reserved and paid for rental a week before my planned trip, specifically needing an SUV for a long trip planned with large items plus two children and all our packed luggage. They called me a few days beforehand to make sure I was still coming, and confirm some details. I mentioned that I wasn't sure about arrival time as it depended on when I could get a ride to their location (this place did not offer their well-known motto of "we'll pick you up") she laughed and said she understood and we ended our conversation. I arrived on the date of my reservation only to find out they had assumed I wasn't coming because it was past the time I'd indicated I would arrive and had given my rental to someone else. I mentioned that I had not been told of that policy when they had spoken to me on the phone a few days prior and reminded them that I had mentioned that I wasn't 100% on when I could come and pick it up. She just shrugged her shoulders at us. She looks in her system and says they don't have anything nearby available either and apparently was having to try and find one for other customers as well. I asked why they hadn't called me before giving away the car I had reserved (again, well ahead of time - and had spoken to a person saying I was for sure coming) and she said that they can't do that since there are too many "no shows". I ask if there is something larger, like a van or mini van and she replies that she has cars... I didn't need a car... I needed an SUV...
So, I go on the website and see that the Enterprise in Lynchburg is saying they have an SUV available and I go through the process of reserving it, filling in all my details, the payment info and my ride gets ready to leave and drive all the way out there. A few minutes later after I hit the confirm button my phone rings, it's the Lynchburg office saying they don't have an SUV available. I ask why their website had said there was one. He tells me that their website isn't able to keep an inventory of what is or isn't available. In this day and age with technology as advanced as it is... this seems really hard to believe that they don't know what cars are available to rent in their own lot. This whole ordeal with Enterprise has left a very sour taste with them. Doubt I will ever try to rent through them again.
I ended up using AVIS in Charlottesville.

Amazing staff from person who greeted me to the manager. I came in unexpectedly because I was having bizarre engine issue with car I had rented from National Airport location. I was dirty from working in the yard and had a whole load of home depot items. They treated me like a king and had me switched out and on the road in 15 minutes. Highly recommend this location and will use them in the future when we live her full-time! Thank you!

They said they could not come do road side Assistance and that we would have to drive it 55 miles through the mountains (one hour and 25 minute drive) to get a different car. After the first lady told us only to drive it 20-30 miles. Nothing like driving an unsafe car in the mountains at dark.

Horrible experience, I called and set up a rental and on the way there they called me back informing me the vehicle was at another location redirected my Uber went from $20 to $60 upon arrival I found out the vehicle wasn't there it was at another location after another $60 Uber ride same thing no vehicle. Lucked out and another rental spot was next to them and got a vehicle there

I’m not very happy due to the fact you all took out way more money then expected and I’m still waiting on the rest to b refunded u all told me 300$ deposit but it ended up being 800$ n I’m still waiting on 400$ to b refunded. I called and they said they made a mistake I don’t have money like that too have mistakes made!I have emailed u my info and details update: still haven’t received anything yet and called both local and Call center and the bank NOBODY seems to wanna help me

Excellent service! Great car! Ample reminders and willingness to accommodate my needs. In this day and age when so many make one feel they're servicing you unwillingly, this Enterprise location in Waynesboro was like returning to the good ole days. Wonderful experience!

Overall good rental besides dead tags wasn't explained if I used there insurance it would extra fee. Tire light kept coming on. And enterprise did nothing to help me with my issue.

The worst of worst!!! Pantops staff were so unprofessional and management. The car I rented smelled of cigarettes. I didn’t know it until I turned on the air. I rented the car at 5:30 on a Friday. They close at 5:30. There was no way to take it back or get another car. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday. So I left the car parked all weekend at my home. Bring asthmatic I had to stop to use my inhaler due to the overwhelming smell of cigarettes. When I spoke with the management staff on the following Monday he didn’t do anything to make this right. He didn’t even care about what I was saying. I asked for the district manager name and number he gave me an email address. Wow! I would never rent from this branch again.

The waynesboro enterprise and the Harrisonburg rent a truck are phenomenal. Great service and great trucks. Charlottesville had nice tiny cars but no trucks even though I had a reservation and they said they would have one. So Charlottesville gets 1/2a Star

Been renting cars for 5years from them have an account everything I will never rent from them again as to they where rude and would not accept my proof of residence which I get all mail from P.O. Box so if you receive your mail from P.O. Box they will not rent to me anymore which mind you I’ve already showed proof of residence and should not have to do so every time I rent I will take my money and business else where with my perfect driving history hope you all go out of business which way they heading will cheap cars anyway always dirty when we get them from Staunton or waynesboro cheap businesses
