South River Fly Shop is a great fly shop with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, described as the greatest in the state. The shop offers a great selection of gear and tying supplies. It is run by good, knowledgeable people who are fantastic and happy to answer any questions. The staff provides amazing customer service and advice, is incredibly accommodating and professional, and will tell you if you don’t need something. They are also willing to share places to go for those unfamiliar with the area. The guiding staff are knowledgeable of the local water and are capable of teaching anglers of any skill level something new. They are not just guides but teachers, helping clients gain confidence and further knowledge of the sport. Guests report very productive and great experiences fishing in incredibly picturesque settings. The shop also features a customer appreciation program with points earned toward future credit. It is considered a must-go fly shop with a great experience, great shop, and great people.
Great fly shop! Great guys working in it! Bought a 8wt combo and had some issues with screw threading because of factory mess up. They replaced it no questions asked. Amazing customer service and advice definitely will be back if passing through again!
