South River Fly Shop is a great fly shop with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, described as the greatest in the state. The shop offers a great selection of gear and tying supplies. It is run by good, knowledgeable people who are fantastic and happy to answer any questions. The staff provides amazing customer service and advice, is incredibly accommodating and professional, and will tell you if you don’t need something. They are also willing to share places to go for those unfamiliar with the area. The guiding staff are knowledgeable of the local water and are capable of teaching anglers of any skill level something new. They are not just guides but teachers, helping clients gain confidence and further knowledge of the sport. Guests report very productive and great experiences fishing in incredibly picturesque settings. The shop also features a customer appreciation program with points earned toward future credit. It is considered a must-go fly shop with a great experience, great shop, and great people.
I went on my first guide trip ever with Reed. It was the best experience I have had. Reed put me on fish and taught me. He helped me fix my casting and I learned the proper way to nymph. I cannot say enough of how much I appreciated his time and knowledge. Tony George

Great shop and the customer service is great. I talked to Reed and he also guided my fishing trip. I had a great time and learned a lot about the fish I was catching. Their shop has a good variety of tying materials and they were very knowledgeable about anything I had to ask
