Jackie is very unprofessional and does listen to the consumer. Pawns off the problem to Budget customer service. She told me that I cannot determine a change in the contract that Lindsay wrote up and that it’s not their problem. She even got a customer at the counter involved by saying that they can read the contract to me over the phone if I didn’t believe her, exposing my personal information. Budget is saying my rental was through 3/1/2024, but I paid for an extra day as seen on the confirmation contract. I strongly recommend that you do not use Budget Truck Rental for anything. Save yourself from being screwed over and use U-haul instead. On 2/27/2024, when I picked up the truck, it had furniture in the back left there from a previous rental. I offered to get rid of it for a discounted rate, because I needed the truck. Budget did give me a refund of $120, but they should have checked the truck in properly to avoid this problem.

I made reservations to rent a car weeks ago when I called to let the one in wyers cave know I'm on my way they had no records showing I reserved the car customer service avis lied to me n gave me false information on rental reservations

This is one of those locations that is in serious need of new management. This morning, when we picked up our car, we could quickly tell it had not been vacuumed and had lots of pet hair on the seats. This is something we have experienced so many times at this location that we now dread coming here. So we headed back to the Avis counter to complain about the car and had to wait again in line which was a punishment on its own as there were now others waiting in front of us. When we brought the issue to the agent’s attention, she did not bother to apologize to us for the inconvenience. We were also taken aback when she replied, "We cannot guarantee there is no pet hair in these cars," as if we were expecting too much. This is a highly unprofessional response to a customer complaint about pet hair all over the car seats.Meanwhile, we saw a sign near the check-in counter that clearly showed customers will be charged a cleaning fee of up to $450 for not returning a vehicle in clean condition and free of pet hair. Ironically, they highlighted pet hair in the list of reasons for the hefty fee even though they are obviously not holding anyone accountable for it. And since the staff are not cleaning their cars properly before making them available again, they are unfairly punishing everyone else who expects a clean car.In response to our complaint, we were given keys to two other vehicles on their lot that we could check on our own to see which one was cleaner. One of those two cars also had a lot of pet hair, while the other had much less, so we went with that one. We spent two minutes with a lint brush to remove the hair which showed that it didn't require much effort and that whoever is cleaning the cars is not doing their job properly. We then had to return back to the check-in line for a third time in order to let the agent know which car we selected so she could update it in our contract. It did not appear that she made any notes regarding the dirty cars we identified so that they could be properly vacuumed. She also again did not bother to apologize before we finally left.It's shocking how many reviewers have complained about similar issues at this location and yet nothing has been done to improve the rental experience when you return. I don't want lip service from an online agent who will "look into it." What I want is someone serious enough about actually improving the quality of customer service at this location. It seems they only want to be reactive rather than ensuring situations like this are not the norm.

Whoever is managing this Avis/Budget location should be retrained or replaced. Each time we rent from here, we usually get a car that isn't properly cleaned. The carpets are usually filthy and there is often human hair or dog hair on the seats. The staff is also not very friendly, never smile or thank you for renting with them, and almost never apologize when an issue is brought to their attention. While they do give us the option for a different car, they always send us out to the lot to look for a cleaner car as if that is our job. We then end up losing time getting back in line and waiting to repeat the check-in process which is not fair to us.

Usually the place we get a rental car. I've always made reservations through Costco to get a good rental deal. Service is very good. Car selection is hit and miss due to availability. Usually there are satisfactory choices. This time we did not get the upgrade, but the car we got was very clean and it ran well. It is a small operation in a small airport. If one is not too fussy or particular, it should satisfy.

Pro: Friendly staff with convenient location for the general aviation folks.Con: very dirty car inside and out. It had trash from the previous renters to include: water bottles, dental flosser, used napkins, hair barrette, and Starbucks drink stirrer.Dirty outside to where you hands were filthy after closing the trunk. It was hard to see damage areas under all the dirt and grime.This is all Funny since there was constant signage about $450 cleaning fee. I should have gotten a credit for cleaning up after the previous renters. Gross.

Absolutely horrible service! We reserved a vehicle 3 months prior and I called to moved the pick up time since we weren’t making it for the original reserved time. We were told that works for them. As a wedding photographer, renting cars isn’t something new to me and I REALLY needed this rental. We show up and there were NO cars for us! ZERO! I was told that “they got the time wrong” and just gave the last car away right before we arrived. I have no idea what type of system this location uses but it was so unorganized and completely unprofessional. We were later charged a “No Show Fee.” ??? We did show.. and they had no cars. We called about this fee and were told that the Weyers Cave location “Never charges” a no show fee. After horrible service, they LIED about the no show fee. Please be aware before using this location. Never using Avis at Weyers Cave Airport again!

If you desire a true caring, professional and smart car rental experience: you must use Avis @ Shenandoah or Charlottesville Airports. Your car rental experience will be exponentially better if you do especially @ AVIS with Jake (Shenandoah Airport & Leann (Charlottesville Airport) at its respective helm! Alby L.
