“They have a great collection of Hoyas! I needed to replace an Indian rope that was hijacked by a plant thief and found one, at this location! Definitely a hidden gem! I will be back :)”
“Staff is friendly and helpful. The store is always clean and items are easy to find. If something is not in stock, they are happy to help you order it online. I have never encountered an employee there that was in a bad mood or that did not offer help. They always greet you when you enter the store.”
“Was looking for advice on some shrubbery at my parents’ property. The ice storm last winter really hit hard. Since some of the plants are over 45 years old, but it’s part of the home place , it’s really hard to lose anything.
From the first contact with them, the team was extremely kind and helpful. I was given directions by Teresa on the phone to try the pond location as the office was closed.
I was able to speak with Candace after relaying my concern to the office staff.
She was very knowledgeable and understanding of the concerns I had and looked at some pictures I’d taken to show the damage up close. One particular plant needs to be addressed to install a handrail.
I’d searched some plant identification websites and the care advised for particular plants. It was a relief to talk to someone with hands on experience rather than guess if the answers on plant apps are correct.
Anytime you’re able to speak to anyone in person these days is a rare blessing. I had the opportunity to meet some really great people and learn a little about their business as well. It’s a privilege to be able to work with local folks rather than the big box stores. They even stayed an extra twenty minutes on a Friday to help me with legitimate questions. I was unaware until just before closing that even though the office hours ended at 4:30 the nursery at the pond site closed at four. Neither of them pointed this out or even became annoyed, asking me to come back another time. They were friendly, down to earth, and welcoming. That means everything when you really don’t know where to start. In my opinion, they went above and beyond to offer any advice they could.
We even talked about Mrs Susie Shreckhise’s gift of creativity. There were the most adorable handcrafted pieces, some of which focused on the classic ‘The Giving Tree’. This has got to be one of the best books ever written. A couple immediately caught my eye and I bought a special piece to hang at my home. If you’re familiar with the book you know what I’m talking about.
Our Lord says not to worry about anything, but rather to pray about everything. I feel at peace about all that we’ve lost and how best to preserve what we can at my childhood home, a step at a time. I’m very grateful to the Shreckhise team for taking a few extra minutes to make a huge difference to another family they’ve never met. Thank you!!”
