Recommend buying the pass so that you can tour this building. This building alone makes the pass worth it.

Visited in July, beautiful gardens. We did not buy tickets to enter the palace itself but walked around the gardens and outer structures for a relaxing time. The flowers in the gardens were gorgeous as well as the seashell walkway and arch into the gardens.

Sad it was a walk thru tour this time though they did explain the parlor area. Last time visited was a guided tour with talks about each of the rooms. Still interesting to see. Got to see a hog be butchered.

Guides are helpful. They have knowledge beyond the obvious. Did not rush when explaining.
I learned that the Governor's Palace likely had cardinals in cages as the occupants found them exotic.

The details of the reconstruction were amazing, excellent staff & very knowledgeable. Reminded me of Blair castle in Scotland.

This is a key part of the Colonial Williamsburg experience. A great place to start your visit, as the museum interpreters set the stage for the story about to be told by the entire complex.

It's currently under construction in preparation for America's 250th independence day celebration but you can still get tours and walk the grounds with a ticket. We love walking the grounds it will take a bit if you walk the whole thing but it's beautiful.
