Would advise against booking a pickup at closing time if you can, like most offices, employees are not as accommodating as they’re trying to close up shop for the day.Be aware there is a $200 (refundable once vehicle is returned) damage deposit that will not be advised until you’re at the register checking out.The car I ordered (days in advance) was not clean- exterior.Recently used Enterprise & had a much better experience.

Paid for my rental car in advance and when I show up to get it they charge me an “intercity fee” because I’m picking it up in one city and dropping it off in another city an hour away. Guess what - they already knew this and didn’t disclose the predatory fee at the time of purchase.Luckily I disputed the charge and got my money back but I’ll never use hertz again.

They do not tell you all the extra charges they will charge until the very end. I went to hertz because on their website I was able to reserve a Tesla for less than $400 for my week trip. Upon return I am charged $769 because of “fees” super disappointing and never coming back. I feel scammed

Awful. This place is maddening. They gave me an EV (which I didn’t want or request) and after leaving, I realized it only had a 30% charge, which is sufficient for less than 50 miles 1-2 days.They then told me to go charge it at a gas station, so I drove there, but it required an adapter (which hertz did not have). I tried to exchange the car but hertz said they did not have anything else, as they were all out of cars.I then drove to Target and leaned it takes 1.5 hrs to charge the vehicle (about $21). I almost got stranded. The dealership promised to have someone call me, but of course they never called.Unprofessional, uninformed about their own fleet, and generally unconcerned about their customers.While I was there, another customer was so irate they actually called the police on hertz for deceptive billing.Just a horrible experience all around.

We rented a car that had a loaded gun in it in Williamsburg, Virginia. We returned it to the location and asked for a different car. They granted it but it was very traumatizing to find the loaded gun. What if we had children who found it first? It would have been a devastating outcome. We asked for the company to call us and talk about it. They didn’t after several requests. We paid full price still but they did give us some coupons for if we used them again. Too scared to think about renting from them again. They claim the inspect and clean every car, but this clearly didn’t happen.

I rented a car here for a week back in 2022. The staff was super nice and helped me understand the rental car process since it was my first time. I had originally reserved a Chevrolet Spark, but when I got there they said they didn't have any so they upgraded me to a Jeep Grand Cherokee at no cost. This worked out because I liked it so much I ended up buying one! Vehicle was clean and ran fine. Would recommend

Terrible after care. When collecting the car we were asked if we wanted to take out toll road coverage for $169. We declined as we only planned to use one toll road during our trip. We were informed each toll was recharged to us by Hertz $10 + toll fee. This was satisfactory to us. But since returning home we have received an invoice from plate pass & hertz for $251.97 and had our credit card charged without our permission. There is absolutely no way to contact hertz to query this. Where is your customer care?!

Rented a vehicle. Declined all added "services" including hertz ez-pass for tolls. Used my own ez-pass on all tolls. A few days after returning the vehicle hertz charged my credit card with all tolls. Sent hertz customer service my ez-pass statement showing I paid all tolls they were charging me for. Hertz sent a letter stating still responsible for tolls and refused to refund charge. Total scam. Should have read all the negative reviews and avoided Hertz.

over charged $300! denied receipt upon returning car. asked repeated times for receipt and car checked and denied. person who rented and who i returned to obviously is mentally challenged. disputed charges with bank. to the owner who only replies to positive reviews: if you see something say something,,, the individual who I enter acted with is incompetent to handle monetary transactions much less rent vehicles. very concerning and my concerns have been reported

Rented 3 times from this location. They never have the car you booked, 2 cars were completely filthy- not just dirt that needed to be vacuumed but had trash and napkins throughout, and all 3 times the cars had a half tank or less of gas, when the printed agreement issued to me said it was full.

Worst experience ever. They were very rude, they didn’t have the car we booked. So we had to rent a car that 100$ more expensive.
