I can't say enough good things about this vet and staff. Dr Dunsmore is a wonderful reptile vet. He takes the time to explain and answer my offen numerous questions. They call and check up on the babys too. I have been coming here for years and would definitely reccomend them.

My husband had a cat when I met him that he took here, and they gave her great care. Years later, while he was out of town, we had to make the hard decision for me to take her in to have her put to sleep. When I arrived, they had the room dimmed, nice blankets for her and for me to sit on, and soft music playing. When I picked her up, I wasn’t expecting much, but the crematory put her ashes in a very nice urn with her name on it. I wasn’t expecting any of this, but as someone who runs a funeral home and crematory (for humans), I can say this was the most respectful and caring I could have ever imagined. The staff and our vet were so incredibly kind. I would highly recommend them for your vet needs and end of life care as well. Thank you

While the veterinary care is good, I have a serious issue with their policy of adding a surcharge for payment by credit card.
If you're going to run a business, you need to be customer friendly. Surcharge for what is by far the most common payment method in the country is NOT customer friendly.
It may eventually lead me to find a differentvet for our pet care.

My two cats were patients of MPAH for a few years. During June 2023, one of my cats (Tiger) became very ill. MPAH couldn't have cared less and wouldn't make an emergency appointment. Ultimately, I took her elsewhere and MPAH couldn't even be bothered forwarding her records. In the 48 hours before Tiger died, they never returned my calls. Now they want me to vote for them for Best in Williamsburg. No way on earth! (And my other cat is seeing a new Vet.)

When my puppy had a UTI, I called every animal hospital it the area to see if she could be treated. They were all booked for weeks. MPAH knew it was urgent and squeezed us in. When my other dog was having skin issues, I knew I could rely on them again. I will never take my dogs anywhere else. I’ve had some bad experiences with vets where I leave with a massive bill of tests and no explanation as to what is wrong with my dog. I’ve paid $900 for a gas bubble before. Here I know I won’t be overcharged and they ask before they do, so you have time to question whether or not you can cover it that visit. They give you several treatment options and give you the choice. They’re very thorough, knowledgeable and caring. I absolutely recommend this place as it’s hands down the best vet around. Five stars just isn’t enough.

Very positive experience with the veterinary services received. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The offices are very clean, which is extremely important to me.

Was nervous starting over with a new vet office after moving states.
Super sweet staff that was patient and kind. (Despite the fact I was word fumbling like crazy after an 8 hour drive. Ha!)
Looking forward to working with them more in the future.

We have had a number of dogs over the last 35 years. We came to Dr. Dunsmore at Middle Plantation Animal Hospital when our last two dogs, English Cocker Spaniels were about 8 years old. These two dogs were litter mates we bought in 2011. Not wanting to just randomly find a vet, we questioned other pet owners and were referred to Dr, Dunsmore by others in our community. We were very happy with our experiences with both the doctor and his staff. All are attentive, thorough, warm and caring in their interactions with us as owners and with our dogs. Besides the warmth he displayed toward our dogs, we especially appreciated the detailed notes and explanations Dr. Dunsmore would provide as each examination was ending. We always felt we walked away with our questions answered fully and a clear understanding of his assessments and plans. Not all, maybe not many, veterinarians have his communication skills and that, to us, is a very important asset. As you can guess, we would recommend Dr. Dunsmore to others.

Dr Roger is amazing. Her disposition with my very nervous pup was warm and empathetic. I took my dog in for fear of a blockage and she took wonderful care of Noa. She called me first thing the following morning the next day to check in. She really cares about our animal children and I trust her 100%! Williamsburg is lucky to have her and her tech team. Thank you Dr Roger and team!!

Middle Plantation is the best vet we've ever been to. The staff here are EPIC! Professional and personable. They helped us through a lot of medical complications with our rescued mastiff. Dr. Dunsmore tailors a protocol to see a patient with trauma issues, where other vets turned away a challenging case. We are grateful and satisfied customers.

We switched vets to here after our other raised their prices exponentially. I wasn't expecting to be in and out for our service in less than ten minutes, but aside from that surprise everyone there was so helpful and kind. My dog being from a rescue is pretty afraid of being in buildings for some reason but multiple women came out and were trying to win her over with patience and treats. Thank you to the whole team today for treating my puppy as I would treat her.
