We have a grandfather clock built in the 1880s. It needed major repair so I needed an excellent clock craftsman. I found him to be Mao, the owner of MN Jeweler. He came to my house to see what parts I needed, ordered them, and fixed our clock perfectly. Mao is a real master craftsman, and a very friendly man! I highly recommend him to anyone who needs watch or clock repair!

This place scammed me!!! I went here to have a new ring designed using stones from 2 different rings and I purchased an additional diamond from them to complete the new design. The diamond that I bought from them has since “collapsed” into the setting, and is visibly misaligned with the row of other diamonds from my previous ring. They clearly sold me an inferior quality diamond that did not match the others! I paid them almost $1000 for this terrible job.

Do not go to MN for care of heirloom jewelry. My fiance (who doesn't know about jewelry at all) took my grandmother Tiffany set 6 prong 3/4 CT champagne solitaire in to repair the prongs and resize the ring. The total cost was about $250 as MN wouldn't repair the prongs but replace them instead. My guy didn't know the difference and gave the owner permission to do what he needed to do. The owner took the Tiffany setting, replaced it with a standard 4 prong setting and sized too small. When I took my heirloom gold wedding band in for sizing as well, the same guy measured my finger and decided to go up a half size as he said that thicker rings need to be bigger. When I went to pick it up, it was way too big and had to be resized. At that time, I asked about the engagement solitaire and why it had been changed as the 6 prong Tiffany was the original look, and now it doesn't fit against the wedding band. I was working with a lady sales associate who had no idea why the owner/jeweler would do such a thing, so she called him over. When she asked him, he remembered the ring and he said "oh the guy that brought it in PROBABLY said he didn't care." I explained that my guy isn't a ring expert and didn't know that a 6 prong is safer than a 4 prong or that there is a difference in the settings at all. The owner/jeweler shrugged his shoulders, and when I said I wanted it fixed so it would fit against my wedding band, he told me it would be another $200 (plus the previously stated $50 for resize, so an additional $250 total). The sales lady helping me blanched, then closed her mouth and walked away to appear busy elsewhere. I was blown away. So, the owner/jeweler took set an expensive, one-of-kind, heirloom diamond and set it in a cheap head and wouldn't correct his mistake. He had to resize my wedding band, and I was told it would take 4 days. Okay, no big deal. I left the store. They called me back within ten minutes, so I had to go right back to the store (okay, again, saves me an hour drive later as we drove specifically for that store based on a recommendation). When I picked up the corrected band, it was now much tighter as though he couldn't get the size right at all, and the younger guy in the store wanted to charge me twice for something I had already paid for before. When I told him to explain to me the charges, he got an attitude before he realized his mistake. When I had originally taken the wedding band in for sizing, I was told that because they had to add gold in, the cost would be more. That made sense, but when they took the gold back out, they wouldn't reduce the cost for the extra gold they first used then took back out. When I asked why, I was told it's a flat fee for ring sizing. So, I was charged for all the gold put into the ring before correcting the size. I walked out very, very upset with the quality of their work, their customer service, and they're gouging. I will never return here, and everyone I talk to, I'll direct them away from this store. The shop should have honored the 6 prong Tiffany head security and heritage, warrantied their sizing, and adjusted their ring sizing cost appropriately. When I was quoted the cost of sizing the wedding band, I was told the cost would depend on the amount and price of gold needed for the correct size. I was charged for the amount of gold to make the ring too big, but I wasn't offered the discount when the gold was taken back out to correct their mistake. I was told sizing corrections are built into the original price. So, I was charged for gold I don't have while they made the ring too big. I'm no expert in scam artists, but this seems like a brilliant scam.

These guys are great. I brought my engagement ring in to be resized and they had it done in a day. Other places said it could take up to two weeks. I will definitely be returning.

When my husband proposed with a M.N. Jeweler custom design, I knew we would be back for our wedding bands. We have had such a wonderufl experience. Fair prices and GORGEOUS, life-long jewelry. What more could you ask for? Oh, owners that remember you as soon as you walk in the door... yep they have that too. Thank you so much for a beautiful engagement ring, wedding bands, AND day of wedding jewelry. We will be forever customers.

I can not say enough good things about my experience here. They took my Great-Grandmother’s 1913 engagement ring and remounted my diamond into it, and I am overjoyed with the result. All for significantly less than they should have charged! Thank you again guys!

Nate was on the ball. I was considering 4 other Jewelers for the job. Needless to say Nate at MN Jewelers found the bestlooking for the best price diamonds and made a 3d print of the custom ring in less time to get a qoute from other Jewelers. I do not usually write reviews, but felt moved after such great service and price. I highly recommend them.

This is hand's down one of the best jewelers in the Williamsburg/Hampton Roads area. Their customer service and talented jeweler's are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Normally people advise individuals to shop around for things like jewelry, but this place is pretty much a one stop shop when it comes to high quality authentic jewelry. Even if they don't have something specific you're seeking up front they have the knowledge connections to get the product at a truly fair price.

My mother and I happened to be walking around one day and stumbled upon this shop one day. Little did I know how much I’d end up loving this place. It’s a little small family business. They are very professional, attentive, and personal! My mother bought me a ring and had it resized and cleaned multiple times ( as I became pregnant and then lost weight and then gained again)! My mother is very picky and she’s in love with this shop! She refuses to go anywhere else go get her Jewlery fixed, cleaned or resized. My husband is also picky he’s the worse! I once stole his chain while he was at work because it was looking dull and went to go get It cleaned. He was so shocked to see how stunning it looked had not seen it shine like that in a while. He as well now only goes to MN to get his chain cleaned. And now we are going back once again to get out little daughter her first Jewlery pieces and am so excited. Seriously can’t say enough good things about this place. Definitely worth checking out.

I've had such wonderful wervice at MN Jeweler. First of all, they cleaned my 59-year engagement ring and made it look like 59-years ago when my husband gave it to me. Also a necklace I could not wear was turned into a very classy bracelet. The staff has given me great help in deciding if fixing a piece was worth the price, or not. I always feel welcome here and would recommend this jeweler to everyone. The ring sparkles like a star.

MN Jewelers is a family owned business, and the attention I've received the various times I've visited them has been warm, personal, professional, and satisfactory. I had several jewelry pieces that needed to be repaired, including a bracelet that I wanted reconfigured, to create an earring (I'd lost one in the pair!), and I was very satisfied with the work. Mao--the proprietor, originally from Pennsylvania--also repaired two of our clocks, a near antique mantel clock, which we took to the store, and a grandfather's clock, which he repaired at our home. (Yes, he makes house calls!) We (my husband and I) could tell from the start that he knew his craft thoroughly--and loved his profession. For these reasons, we would recommend him highly.
