12/27/23 Took my red sweater in for dry cleaning an entire year ago. I took it right after wearing it so that it could get cleaned and ready to wear next year. Well it was my fault for not doing an inspection after cleaning it. It was on the hanger in the plastic with receipt stapled to bag. Cost me more than 8 dollars and it is not clean and wearable. I think they forgot to clean it altogether. Never again will I go to this dry cleaners. Just for the heck of it I went to swan cleaners with my sweater and receipt in hand and asked about it. They said they would clean it again but not discounted so they will clean again if I pay again. No thank you. People don't do what I did check your things upon pickup. I will never go here again, even though I should have looked before leaving.

I would have recommended Swan Cleaners...and they may be fine until you have an issue and they damage your shirt. Their machines and indifference to taking care of clothes entrusted to their care resulted in a massive hole in a very expensive shirt of mine in early March. They first blamed the damage on the fact that the "shirt was old and the fabric was worn." The shirt was about a year old. While I would have initially considered credit, I had a simple request: please return the damaged shirt--my property--so I may survey the damage. It took close to a month, multiple telephone calls, and multiple trips to Swan Cleaners before they finally returned my damaged property back to me! After that, compensation in cash might have been appropriate. It was not offered. Do not use this dry cleaner unless you want your clothes to be damaged or held for an unreasonable period of time without explanation. That is not how a dry cleaner should do business and not how any professional should do business.Services: Clothes pressing

I have not used Swan cleaners in quite some time since they had lost some clothes of mine before the pandemic. I decided to give them a second chance and was in a hurry and dropped three pair of pants off and seven shirts for simple, laundry, and light starch. I was shocked to see that they charged $8.40 per pair of pants for simple laundry and almost 4 dollars per shirt for a total of $50, the prices they charge are at least twice what the cleaners charge in Newport news on my way to work. I will never use them again, and I am incredibly disappointed in their pricing structure. They think because they are close to a Kingsmill that they can charge high prices and that is ridiculous. There’s a picture of the bill below for you to look at.

The prices at this location are more than I wanted to pay. I decided that I was going to take my business elsewhere, and the lady at the front desk got an attitude. If they had a chance at earning my business in the future, that is now gone.

I have lived in Williamsburg now for 15 years and have dealt with Swan cleaners practically for the whole time I've lived here. I've had numerous interactions with them which have been negative. My biggest complaint with the cleaners is that their prices are exactly twice what of everyone else's are. To launder a men's shirt is almost 3 dollars and at other cleaners such as Berkeley cleaners it is half that price. I picked up my wife's sweater the other day from them and they charged eight dollars for a dry cleaning of that sweater. When I asked them why it was more expensive than a men's sweater they had no answer to that question. I'm totally sick of their exorbitant prices and I will continue to go back to BerkeleyCleaners because their work is as good if not better and their prices are half of Swan cleaners

If you value your clothing DO NOT bring your items to any of the swan Cleaners In the area. After watching how they treated my friend Lori after they ruined her perfect coat I will warn everyone I know to steer clear of this business and their manager Ricky. I personally saw the coat before she took it to Swan. It was in like new condition with only a bit of cat hair on it. She too it to have the hair removed. When she got it back there were holes in it and dirt on the collar. She refused to accept the item and wanted to speak to the manage to see what can be done to remedy the issue. After days of repeated calling she was told by an employee that they know what he was going to say. That the coat was moth eaten and they had not caused the damage. Who the heck takes a MOTH EATEN COAT TO THE CLEANERS!?!?!? Sure enough he finally returned her call after 4 days from the incident and numerous calls to the different swan cleaners in the area trying to get him, he indeed reiterated what was told by his employee. Meaning he has done this before to others if his employees already know his ways. There was no offer to try and compensate her for the coat, let alone refund the cleaning fee! It's the worst Customer service I have ever heard of! What cleaning establishment doesn't inspect the garment before accepting it to be cleaned and if there are issues or damage not note it and notify the customer? Like I said I personally saw that coat before it went to the cleaners it was in perfect condition save some cat hair. She kept it in her closet not in storage. There is NO WAY it was moth eaten!!!

Ricky helped me out in a pinch when no other cleaners in town would - same day press and starch on a groom's tuxedo shirt for a wedding. I brought the garment in well after their 11am same day cutoff, but Ricky took it in stride and had it completed just after 3pm. The price was extraordinarily reasonable, too. Thanks for making this bride's hectic wedding weekend a little bit easier!

Being from out of town and only in Williamsburg for less than a handful of days on a family trip, I specifically looked on Yelp to find a dry cleaner and laundry with four star (or better) reviews. After reading Jim P.'s review, I decided to drive across town from where we were staying to use Swan Cleaners on McLaw's Circle. I would like to say that my experience was as good as the other two reviewer's, however, when I picked up my dry cleaning on Thursday afternoon, there was virtually no starch in any of my shirts, when I'd specifically asked, not only for very heavy starch, but (in the way I requested it of the lady behind the counter) starch so heavy that they'd stand up on their own. I even said it twice, before pre-paying for my order and heading out the door. When I brought it to the attention of the attendant, who waited on me at pick up, that there was hardly any starch in my shirts (what I'd classify as "very light" starch), she was apologetic and told me that they had apparently been put in the wrong pile, when it came time for processing and asked if I'd like to leave them another day to get things done correctly. I told her that that wasn't an option for me, since I was leaving town early the next morning on the continuation of my trip and couldn't drive 20 minutes across town a third and fourth time to get done what should have been done the first time. Again, she was apologetic, but looked at me as if to say, "I know it's not what you paid for or were promised, but we did put some starch in them, so just be happy and go." Let me say, every job that I have ever held, from my first summer job until now has had some component of customer service at its foundation and I was always taught by my parents as well as by those who mentored me throughout my life and career that any job worth doing was worth doing well and worth doing correctly. I have always done everything I could to listen to the instructions of those who asked me to complete a task, so that I was sure what was being asked of me, so that I could produce the desired result. I understand that, contrary to the belief of some, the customer is not always right, but there's also no reason to get things wrong and prove that they are right. I didn't cry foul and demand a refund, because I paid for and got a service. HOWEVER, I did not get the service that I paid for and that's the real crux of the situation. If you promise something, pay attention to what you're telling your customer you'll do for them and come through on that promise. If you can't deliver on the promise, don't make it in the first place. Saying that it got put in the wrong pile or basket or whatever is still an excuse and it's a sorry one at that.

I used Swan for years because they pick up and drop off at home without charge. They would come by once a week without any prompting or calling. No complaints about quality of dry cleaning. Very pleased with doing business with Swan cleaners.

Great dry cleaners. They have a quick turn around automatically but they do have same day service as long as you drop it off before 9 I think or 11 and it'll be ready for pick up by 5pm. What I really like is how personalized your experience gets with them time after time again. They get to know you fairly quickly. They already know your name by the third visit and are most likely checking you in so they can get your stuff. They also do pay up front or when you pick up, which is convenient.
