If I could choose zero stars, I would! I paid $68 for the room and it was worth a whole lot less than that. The room seemed old and stale, well the entire building does. There was a huge hole in the bathroom that was being hid by the bathroom door, also the tiles on the bathroom walls could use a good scrub. When my son and I checked in, we had to check in from the outside of a window. And we could see the lobby right in front of us as they kept the door locked. The WiFi was just as garbage as the room itself because that barely worked, on top of having spotty cell reception. Let me not forget the sides of the beds were dirty as well. At least the heat worked in the room and so did the tv. All in all, I don’t recommend. No, I will not tell a friend to stay here. I’d rather tell them not to.

First room reeked of cigarette smoke. Second room smelled of cigarette but less. Stairwell smelled of piss but was masked by more cigarette smoke. Requested a non smoking room, but clearly smoke was getting into the rooms. Stayed one night and now I have a sinus infection. Checked A/c unit, it was dirty and moldy. TV didn’t have a cable box. Fridge was unplugged. Overall disappointing but the office staff did try to make it right. Just smokers ruined my stay here. Going to spend the extra money to stay somewhere else.

I wish I could give this hotel zero stars. This was easily the worst stay we’ve ever had, and I hope this serves as a warning to anyone looking for a decent, quiet stay.
First impressions? A "Travelodge" sign slapped over the old "Clarion" sign. It looked run-down, but we gave it a chance since we had stayed here when it was the Clarion. Big mistake. The hotel is outdated and poorly maintained—lounge, hallways, elevators, guest rooms—it's all falling apart. Honestly, this place shouldn’t even be open in its current state.
We were put in a room next to a howling dog (thanks, #439), despite requesting a semi-quiet room. After calling the front desk (through a barely functioning phone), I got a rude, unhelpful response and waited nearly 30 minutes before they finally spoke to the dog’s owners. The noise continued, but by then, I was too exhausted to care.
To make things worse, loud music blasted from the banquet hall until well past midnight, despite being promised we wouldn’t hear it. Again, the front desk couldn’t care less, and the broken phone made any further communication pointless.
Breakfast the next morning? Nonexistent. The only offering by the hotel was a lot of coffee in the front lobby, where an old shirtless man was making himself a cup. When we asked about the lack of food, we were told it was because the hotel was changing owners. Not acceptable.
Sherry at the front desk was the only saving grace. She was kind and understanding, but couldn’t help since we booked through a third party. Booking.com ended up refunding us, as the hotel refused to cooperate when they tried to resolve the issue.
Bottom line: Don’t stay here. They don’t care about their guests, and this hotel is a disaster. It’s not worth the money, the stress, or the sleepless nights.

Very spacious rooms and excellent service, it is very comfortable and the location is very useful since it is close to all the attractions within Williamsburg, I would definitely stay there again.

The front desk woman was very nice and not bad at all. The experience after is what caused us to leave and not stay our second night as planned. We did get a refund. However, the room smelled like marijuana. The sheets and pillows had stains on them. The water had floating rust in it no matter how long it ran which caused me and my fiancé to brush our teeth with water bottles. We heard constant banging and shutting doors up till 2:30am next door. For the price, it’s understandable. But would highly recommend looking else where.

To say the least the lady who checked me in was very nice. Where to start, was given room 510 and upon walking in and viewing the place, I noticed the door to the ajointing rooms was kicked in. I immediately went down with pictures to show the front desk. All I was told was switch him rooms. I was then given room 531. The bed looked as if it may have been there since they opened their doors. The sleep was horrible not to mention spiders, flies and nats. After awakening for work I heard a noise and wondered what it was. There was a rat trap under my sink with a rat stuck to it. The place is by far the worst place I have ever stayed at. From the inside to the outside this place should be condemned. I booked for 3 days and left after one. If I could post pictures I would definitely post what I went through.
Safety: I would not turn my back in your room and definitely bring Lysol wipes. This place has to be reported!!!

The photos online are YEARS old. There is no free breakfast, there is no swimming pool. The place is ran by rude individuals and many rooms are occupied by people that live there! Not just traveling guests!

This may be standard if you generally stay in hotels in this price range, but if you are used to Hampton/Fairfield Inns, then this will not be a hotel for you. Based on good reviews online and favorable pictures, we were hopeful this would be decent. We arrived late and were so tired from our drive, to find a run down, sketchy looking hotel. The online listing mentions a pool on site, but there are signs at the desk to go elsewhere, to another motel, for access to a pool. The check in area has toys and kids ride on vehicles because there are often kids running around or driving their cars throughout the parking lot (I think the owners extended family is often hanging out in the front and in the parking lot, not a problem, but just look out for kids while parking). The ride up the elevator feels like the Tower of Terror, with wall panels falling off, scary sounds and the uncertainty that you'll actually make it to your floor. The walk to the room is less than appealing as well. Finally, into the room, it was much better than expected upon first glance. We did find that our sheets had just been remade but not changed, as we found black hairs in the bed and on pillow cases. I went and got two changes of sheets and one of those had a large discolored area and a brown streak on it... Not any better. The front desk did not seem to be concerned when I brought that back to them and just double checked that I didn't need those dirty sheets they just gave me, thinking they had been clean. The shower area had several areas of rust or dirtiness, but it was tolerable. The rest of the room looked decent, but we still took a package of sanitizing wipes to all surfaces to help us feel better about spending the night. We had prepaid and it was late, so we didn't leave and go elsewhere. My wife was very upset and regretted that she chose the hotel as an attempt to save money on our trip. We did end up staying our full 3 nights, unsure if we could complain to Travelodge and get out of our prepaid stay. Once we had cleaned everything and came to terms with the Tower of Terror elevator and everything else, it seemed tolerable since we were out all day and only there to shower and sleep. Our cleaning of the room probably left it cleaner than when we showed up. We would not choose to stay here again and will be avoiding all Travelodge motels in the future.
