Absolutely awful experience with this company. Sadly they have my auto loan and I have never had a worse banking experience in my life. Everything is a confusing and difficult process, I don’t trust the employees know what they are doing, and I have been overcharged multiple times in the last 3 months. They can’t handle a simple change in payment or autopay it’s absolutely ridiculous they are able to deal with your money. I am stuck due to having a good interest rate on my vehicle otherwise I would refinance just to get away from the continuous headache. If you have a choice go elsewhere you would be glad you did.

They let fraud be committed to your account until it gets over drafted so they can then steal all your money from overdrafts. No matter how many times this company gets bad reviews on here or better business bureau, they don't care. I don't live in VA anymore and all the problems I've had with them, they refuse to address over the phone with massive wait times or just simply hanging up on you. I shouldn't have to spend $400 on a plane ticket to deal with my account. Shame on you Apple Federal.

I recently joined AFCU and within the first month I opened my account to find 3 overdraft charges. None of my transactions sent my account negative so of course I was upset. I emailed the company at 8:57am identifying my concerns. I received and email at 9:11 am stating the mistake had been corrected! I get mistakes happen, even the best companies make them, it's how you respond that separates. I am happy with AFCU, with banks being over regulated and almost completely automated it was nice to get a fast resolution.

Terrible customer service. Call customer service and you’ll be lucky to reach somebody. If they answer you’ll be lucky they don’t hang up. They hang up for no reason. Never said nothing wrong to them. Terrible customer service.

My family has been with Apple Federal for years, and we have always had great experiences. However, when I recently traveled abroad, I of course made the call to let them know I was going to use my cards overseas. I was then placed on hold for over an hour just to confirm I was the person calling them, and they still froze my cards for fraud. Once I came back, I had some euros I wanted to exchange into American currency, so when I asked if they could do that, the woman in the drive-through was not polite at all. Everyone I’ve ever spoken with at Apple Federal has been so kind and understanding, so this was quite an unpleasant experience. Especially when I wasn’t aware that they were unable to do foreign currency exchanges. These have been extremely disappointing experiences recently that I hope do not continue in the future.

I’m switching banks. Apple has become and acts just like typical corporations. Their business model forces you to use their central phone call center. The “longer than normal wait times” is now normal and they are ok with it. Why would any CUSTOMER think it’s ok to wait 17 minutes (my average) to get help with YOUR money? They believe their frequently asked questions have answers that may (or may not) pertain to you, but WE really just wanted to talk to a human in a timely manner that fits US the customer. They are a typical corporation that only allows you to talk to THEIR selected support staff and does not allow you to escalate if you aren’t satisfied with any aspect of your experience. They can’t answer why the wait times are so extreme and if you tell me to start a chat then why isn’t that chat human available to answer the phone. Oh and if they say you will be contacted by an asst manager don’t hold your breath. When I first joined years ago I could call my local branch and get answers but gradually I noticed THEIR business model started cutting out actual personal human customer service.

I can only speak for this branch, but I’ve had nothing but great experiences with them. The employees remember you, the manager is very nice and approachable, and interest rates are excellent comparatively.

Can never get through to someone when I call the number. “Wait time is 10 min”. I wait 40 min, 25 min, no one answers so I hit the option for them to call me back and it just goes straight to voicemail doesn’t ever ring.

Apple has great rates on loans and savings. I love this location bc they don’t force you to go online for services, they take the time to help you. They clearly pride themselves on great service. The Credit Builder Credit Card is an amazing asset that helped me repair my credit and get into a position to get an apartment, buy a car, and eventually buy a home.

They changed my address without my permission. I’m absolutely shocked that when I called to report it, that they asked me for my drivers license number. Why were they not asking for my drivers license number before they changed it with someone else. I thought I could trust Apple FCU but now I’m not so sure.
