This place always has nice veterinarians, but they seem to churn through them quite fast. Always a different doctor, it seems. If you need an actual VET, don't go here. This is for routine per care only. Take your pet to someone with experience. So this is a big-box dog food store that pushes their wares on you from every angle. Every phone call, every check-in, sell sell sell. And the vets are "persuaded" to discourage raw diets. One vet actually suggested studies prove dogs need to eat grains Well that's just disinformation. Dogs do not need to eat your canned processed non-human grade "food" made with mostly grains. Thanks but no thanks. That's what you get when dog-food manufacturers subsidize veterinary colleges ?

I don’t normally post but I just had a terrible experience. This was my first appointment ever with the Banfield Pet Hospital in Winchester. I also had never been to this Petsmart location before. The front desk person - Eleanor has poor customer service skills and was not friendly. She also was not friendly to my toddler son. It’s unfortunate that this is the first person that is the main point of contact.

they do not refill meds on time despite requesting far enough in advance, and the customer service is lacking in a big way.

I was there to pick a friend up and his cat. The thing that really bothered me is, my friend is low income and they offered him a monthly plan for his cat, which sounded great! But they did not tell him that he had to have a credit card or debit card to do the plan! After they gave his cat, her check-up, shots, and lab work then they asked for a credit card. He said I am paying with cash. She informed him if he didn't have a credit card to put on his account, then he had to pay 781 dollars for the services, which he was quoted 184! As I said my friend is low income not rich! I asked the girl why was he not explained this from the start yet no answer! She assumed we were married and asked if I had one! ( she even mentioned me as the spouse, which I corrected) I gave my friend my debit card to use on there account so they could have their cat as it was indicated he could not have her til they produced a card or paid 781 dollars. So I say to all beware of this clinic! The plan is nice but be advised of ALL requirements before taking your pet there! Or be stuck with an outrageous bill!

We take our dogs here, and they do such a good job with them. I like how they specify what your pet needs or may need, and give them medicine for anything that they need it for. My dogs may not like the vet, but I like this vet.

Banfield is a God send time and again for my furry family. They always come through in an emergency and do those extra things that make you know they love your Pets too.

Very friendly and compassionate staff. They also take the time to explain what they are doing and why. You get the feeling that they really do care about your pets.

Don't get the health and wellness plan even if you have to regime your pet you still have to pay the insurance. Also dr gave my pet medicine I declined and charged me for it after. Always make sure you know what your paying for up front before your pet is seen or when you leave you will get hit with a super high bill.

I had an appointment with Banfield on Thursday, April 28, 2023 for a Preventative Care - Comprehensive Exam. We saw Bree, the licensed vet tech on staff at the banfield Winchester office. Louie is a 10.5 months old and weighs in at 106lbs. I know he's a big boy. His biggest fault is he licks everyone he meets. They took Louie back to take blood & give him his shots. Bree brought him back out and talked to me about getting him neutered and asked if I had any questions. I said no I was good. As I waited for his heartworm test results to come back. I thought of another question and asked if she could come back out and speak to me. Louie is such a laid-back dog. I thought about making him into a therapy dog and I wanted to see what she thought about his temperament. That's when and only after I asked that she informed me Louie would not allow her to touch his front paws. She said he was probably scared. So instead of coming out and talking to me, she chose to muzzle my puppy and had four orderlies hold him down. And she also explained, he continued to pee all over the floor because he was so frightened. She also said with everything that was happening to him he never growled! Why isn't it company policy to come out and speak to an owner instead of traumatizing and scarring a puppy psyche? I was in the lobby! This whole situation could've been avoided had she just come out and talked to me. As it is now, I have no idea how he will act when I take him to the vet in the future. It is obvious to me that animals are not Banfield's first priority.

Friendly staff, easy to schedule with, listened to all my concerns, and were super understanding when I unintentionally got there right as they closed to pick up my pups. Definitely one of the best Banfields we've been to!

I always have a good experience. The vets and assistance are always friendly, patient, thoughtful, and allow me to ask all my questions. I have 3 dogs, 2 are english and need a lot of care. I appreciate how they call me for reminders and follow up to check on my pets. I like the OWP and how it budgets and saves me money. Which I have directly compared to not having these plans vs the direct costs. Win Hester Banfield and the OWP is the best choice for me and my family. To be considered, nothing is perfect and for Banfield, and maybe all vets now, I do miss the days of not hanging out in the congested waiting area and talking about how I need to take care of my dogs in front of a bunch of strangers. This puts a lot of attention and strain on the check in and check out process which has really backed things up even more in the space. I think Banfield needs to rework that a bit to make things smoother, and i think they have started to improve it which is all we can ask for. I imagine that they're able to process more pets this way which helps get our pets scheduled sooner. One other note, is when we pay for an xray it should be a given that we get the xray for our own files.

I love Dr Dodson she is so great with the animals and with explaining everything in detail to us.
