Some of the clothing is just ok, the housewares are hit or miss. Dishes are generally of good quality and in good shape. Outside of the new Rubbermaid products and books in the back room, the items are awful. Dirty and broken furniture. I don't care that something is used, but I don't expect to pay the same price as a clearance sale at a retail store. The biggest turnoff is that the store smells awful. I know it is because donors bring in stuff that hasn't been washed, but that is the case with all thrift stores. This one and Goodwill are the only ones that smell horrific. The others (Blue Ridge Hospice, ETC, SPCA Store) ensure their stores smell fresh.

I have donated many items to local thrift stores here in Winchester as well as in other states. I've never been treated as rudely as I was treated here when making a donation. I was told that my items weren't sorted correctly and that the next time, they need to be sorted properly. The worker then ripped open the bag I brought and dug through everything that I had neatly packed to donate. I think it takes a lot of nerve to be rude to individuals who are choosing to donate to your store so that you can take free items and make a profit by selling them at your location. Needless to say, I won't be back. I left from your store and took my items to Goodwill. Their workers were friendly and happy to receive a donation to sell, make a profit, and provide services for individuals in need.

The kinda thrift store that would prefer to let used items sit on the shelves for years rather than price them below retail.

Pulled up at 5:46 pm. Was turned away because they said they were closed. Sign on door says 6pm. I asked and was told they count their drawers and leave at 6 pm. Got it. Donating elsewhere.

Awesome Salvation Army Thrift Store. Lots of stuff here, and in very good condition. Prices can vary from very cheap to higher. They sell furniture here, lots of tools.I also want to thank 1 lady, who gave me 1 mini crystal or glass elephant. It was such a nice gesture (there is a short story before the gesture she did). The price of it was only 50 cents, but not the price but intentions matter here.It was few months ago. I still remember it, and it gives me warm feeling and a reminder that caring people exist!Thank you! God bless you, Lady!Winchester, Virginia

The items have gone up drastically in price for things that are previously used. Used shirts for $15, book cases for $100, and even a busted up freezer for $130. Most items are pretty cheap but then you get some that shock you, especially since they got them all for free to begin with. I do manage to find some great deals hidden in the racks and shelves.

Lots to choose from and look through here. However a lot of items are overpriced. I miss their older pricing a couple years ago. I know inflation happens, but the prices on some items are higher than going to tjmaxx or Walmart. The staff is sometimes extremely nice, while other times I've experienced unfriendly staff. Parking is good if it's not really busy. I really hope management reconsiders their pricing though.

Extremely sad to see that a place that is specifically meant to help those in need are taking advantage of people in our community. Prices that do not even begin to make sense, much less match the local pay wage for most families who struggle financially....visited recently after several years and I was shocked, disgusted, enraged and quite honestly embarrassed for them. The organization should be ashamed.

NASTY TREATMENT!! My husband and I found a trashcan here Saturday morning, and measured that it would fit in our outdoor space. We came back this evening to purchase the trashcan. We arrived at 5:30 (store closes at 6) and before entering the store a woman shrieked at us!! Raised eyebrows and incredibly confrontational telling us we had fifteen minutes. Surprised someone would shout at us full blast while we still had our hands on the door handle, we just stared back. She again shouted she's shutting down the registers. I turned around and stood outside because I do not tolerate being spoken to that way by someone who has never met or interacted with me.We wanted to purchase one item, knew right where it was in the store, and did not deserve to feel like we were doing something wrong. We knew when the store closed and came early enough by half an hour in order to make our one purchase. It's one thing to say "just to let you folks know, we close in 15 munutes." It's another thing to raise your eyebrows and yell. Decided not to give this store our money and will just pay full price online. Treating people this way is not acceptable, unfortunately she looked like she was somehow in charge, so we don't have hope that it would be better another day.

Shopped there for the 1st time today and I encountered a really rude employee. The store was crowded as it was a Saturday. There was an employee with red glasses, heavy set and probably in here late 50s walking towards me. I tried to move my cart for her but then she rudely said “workers come first.” Store was nice but not going back there again since today’s incident.
