This ham is not good...bitter lot of it hard as a rock not a pepper/ salt ham..
I've eaten a lot of ham over years ..$65.00 at bridgewater Virginia food used to be IGA
This name brand is bad..

I'd been cooking and eating Edwards hams every Christmas for years. About 4 years ago I had Kites ham at the Ivy Inn Restaurant in Charlottesville. I was hooked. Since then I've cooked only Kites hams.

I have been ordering country hams from Kites for 50 years. They are the best. Service is great. They ship next day. The only drawback is they do sell out, so you need to order early, no later than November. We used to get the whole ham and cook in a big pot and finish in the oven. Now we get the deboned and fully cooked. You can also get the fully cooked and sliced too. Best ever.

If you are looking for Real Deal country ham, this is it! I've been enjoying Kite's Hams for many years. I decided a few years ago to stop getting it at the deli shop and get it straight from the source.The family owned business is located just a few miles from Madison in Wolftown. The retail shop is located right there where the cooking and trimming are done. If it looks like you are going in at the wrong entrance - you are at the right place! Go right in and someone will greet you right away. They are always friendly and ready to help you! My favorites here are the cooked, boneless Happy Hams (ready to slice) and the Cooked trimmings (great for southern style beans and seasoning). Note - they open early (7:00 am) and close early (3:30 pm), so be sure and check the hours before you make the drive, but it is sooo worth it!!

A big shout out to Rodney and the Kite’s employees. Great job educating me and being kind about a little issue I had as I was a little ignorant on how their hams are different from the ones myself and my family cured. Great hams. I will always make the road trip to Wolftown Va to see them when I want a great country ham.

I really appreciate the job Rodney and the rest of the Kite's employees did for me. They really educated me on their hams and how they are a little different from the hams my family used to cure. I am a very happy customer and will buy from them as long as they are in business. Great hams.

Cannot beat Kite’s country hams. We eat the ham by itself, season green and pinto beans, and make homemade ham biscuits.
