I have had a very bad experience at this store. It was so bad that I contacted the Better Business Bureau. Here is what I wrote to the BBB."The Guild is a board gaming store in Woodbridge, Virginia. They have a monthly mini figure/board game piece painting competition. I entered my mini figure into this competition, and paid the $10 entrance fee. When I came back on August 20th, 2023 to pick up my mini figure, they did not have it. They looked for about an hour while I was waiting in the store, but they could not find it. I was told to contact them on the store's Discord server to see if they could find it later. I first contacted them on August 20th, 2023. I contacted the person in charge of the mini of the month contest. They told me that they would look for the mini the next day they worked. They never found it. I asked to get into contact with the boss/manager, but they told me that I was unable to. They told me to contact a different employee. I then messaged the main Discord account for The Guild on September 16th 2023. I asked if there was any way to contact a manager or boss. On September 19th 2023 they asked for my name and phone number to give to their boss, which I gave to them. I never received a call, text, or voicemail. I sent a few more messages over the following weeks asking for contact information of a manager, but they never replied again. I also called The Guild and they told me that the boss would call me. They never did. From August 20th 2023 to November 22nd 2023, I have tried contacting The Guild in multiple ways. I have called the store, and I have messaged multiple people about the situation. I have not been able to get into contact with a manager that can help solve my problem of The Guild losing/stealing the miniature I painted and brought in for their mini of the month competition. I feel like my $10 dollar entrance fee should be refunded, and my mini figure should be replaced with something of similar value, including the value of paints and time that I used painting the mini figure."The Guild never responded to the Better Business Bureau and my issue was never resolved because The Guild is not a BBB Accredited Business. The BBB told me to contact an attorney or state office of consumer affairs for more help.It is really unfortunate that I have lost faith in a store that I used to love.

The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Store has a good variety of products. The problem is the scam like business practices. Markups for products are sometimes 40% and these prices fluctuate. Buying from this place requires you to do research as if you're buying stocks. On top of that, sales price adjustments aren't granted even when the price drops the day after you make your purchase.

I dropped in to look for a few things right at opening and not only was the shop well stocked, but the staff asked repeatedly if I needed anything and were friendly. With it being right at opening, I couldn't have had a better experience.I grabbed just a dice mat and a dice set, but I'll be stocking up on paint and miniatures in the future.

If you like trading cards, this is definitely one of the hidden gems of a spot. I was able to get a couple of magic cards that I was looking for that I couldn't find in the DMV. The only downside about this place is the fact that it is inside of Potomac Mills Mall and finding this place is not exactly the easiest but if you do, you just found one of the best places to find singles for trading cards. Especially the magic the gathering.

Discovered this place shortly after I started getting into MtG and I love the atmosphere. The staff is friendly, we can talk nerd to one another, and the commander night was really fun. Couldn't stay for the draft but I definitely would love to go again when I have the time. Would be a 5 star if they had comics but I totally understand since their focus is tabletop games

One of the better hobby game shops I've been to with great management, and super chill clientele. Their event hosting is well organized and their prizes for tournaments are on point

Being a long Time customer of the Guild and its former location, I enjoy the setting and the variety of product they now sell, however their prices can a lot higher than what would be considered market price. That being said the employees are friendly and seem to be knowledgeable in most of the card games they have for sale. While everyone is not a Judge with their understanding of all card games they will make as good of an effort they can to help with what you may need. There is room for improvement, but I have enjoyed the guild and the people who play card games there and the employees

DO NOT purchase or go to this store! Prices are absurd! They could’nt care any less about how to treat customers. Employees must be trained to make an overpriced sale knowing that you can’t make returns on any card game product. Employees won’t say anything about no returns after you spent hundred plus money at this store. Was told later there is a posting about no returns, but why can’t the cashier simply say “by the way, you cannot make returns on these products “ as you go to pay $100 + on double overpriced products!!!!! I will NEVER go to this store, nor will anyone I know.

I went there and bought a tcg sealed product and remained untouched until I wanted a return and get a refund, So I checked my receipt and their website about anything that relates to return policies. Unfortunately there wasn’t so I decided to call them and ask if i can return it. The answer was they can’t give me a refund because it’s “store practice and that they’re afraid of me tampering it” I never seen this practice before because I go to another card shop that actually accepts returns (if it’s sealed and not tampered with). So unless you have an absolute want or need to buy a tcg product over there, I consider to go tcgplayer instead. Also I agree everyone else in the reviews that their prices are very high. (27$ for a deck box?)Update: (pictures of the totally noticeable policy.)

Markup on items is more than most other game stores on average. Nice selection and a good amount of play space.

This is a nice little gaming shop for Magic Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer 40k and other games as well. If you're looking for hard to find or just release items, this is a good place to look.

Recently visited from about 3 hours away with my partner on a shopping trip for her birthday. Selection was good but apparently we made the mistake of showing up during friday night magic. We and two other individuals stood at the register waiting for help for over 10 minutes. When I finally went over to the group of guys standing around talking to ask if they could price magic cards, was told to just "use the computer" and they went back to talking. The person who ultimately helped us didn't seem to be the person running the store as they had questions and kept going back to ask someone who was playing magic. It was just disappointing. Great that you can offer a space for magic, great that you have people that want to be there, but if you're going to ignore customers, maybe close down during play sessions? I doubt we'll be back.

The prices for most of the stuff they sell is legit doubles if not tripled compared to online places I understand you gotta make money but when you buy a 20$ item an try an sell it for 80$ plus that's just crazy...

I bought a 20 dollar starter pack and they said there would be a deck making tournament for it with rare cards as prizes ect no one showed up and they just gave me the pack. I bought it so I could learn how to play but I just got the cards and was sent off.
