I needed a new foundation match and the employees were soo helpful in making my trip easy and enjoyable. I started with a person named Ebony, I believe, and they asked questions about the finish and coverage I wanted and got me a great Patrick ta shade. We then checked out the new blushes from the Sephora brand and I got the palette called “heart breaker “ (coral/red one) along with two brushes and a lip combo. The experience was great from start to finish. Even at checkout, the person cashiering, myself and a customer behind me all had a “girl-talk” moment, and it was really a great vibe. Thank you to the team at Potomac mills. I will be back.

I’ve tried to shop at this store a few times but get no help from the associates. They only have one cashier working and trying to sell other products on the cashier counter. This causes the lines to get long and too much time trying to purchase so I put the items I wanted back and walk out. The other associates just walk around fast like they are working or either standing around talking to each other.

Cecelia and Marz were a stellar example of personalized service. Cecelia helped my daughter find the right products to address her cosmetic concerns. Gave recommendations that my daughter did not even think about! Great service all around! Thank you for taking care of my daughter!

This is the worst sephora store i have ever been to,
The staff is so unprofessional and impolite.
I was about to make a purchase. They were so mean to me and when i said the customer service was terrible the lady at the cashier she said thats how it is there !!!!!!

I have been a customer at Sephora for several years. This past Thursday was my second time using their service option for a full face. Currently 35 weeks pregnant and was pressed for time for a maternity shoot later in the evening. I was able to schedule an appointment with the only licensed artist in the Potomac Mills location. Cait you are Amazing! Thank you for your flexibility and your excellent work. Cait was not only professional and sweet, she was very knowledgeable and made sure to keep me informed throughout the entire appointment. Which lasted a little over 60 minutes, she used pregnancy safe products and gave tips on how to achieve the soft glam look I was looking for at home. Cait thank you again and I look forward to receiving your services again!

I decided to do a pit stop into Sephora to pick up one item. Once I located the item I proceeded to go to checkout. At first it didn’t appear that anyone was at the main register since there was 3 other people ahead of me waiting to be checked out. I heard 2 employees towards the front and I got their attention that we needed help checking out. That’s when the black female told me that there was one person checking out and they only had two people on the floor. They both remained on the floor and did not assist the other cashier. Here’s the problem: 4 people were checking out. 1 was being helped while the rest of was had to wait. Meanwhile, those two on the floor had NO additional customers in the store at that time!!!! It was dead! So, we had to stand in line and wait for this one person to checkout 4 people all while they stood in the front of the store talking and laughing! Completely unprofessional!!!
So, I decided to put my item back and I left!
The one thing retail business aren’t teaching their employees is that customers time is VALUABLE.
Me and my daughter tend to shop at Sephora quite often but I think we will just order online or visit another location.

I had placed an order for pick up at this location that I made online. I picked up my order and looked in the bag and it looked like everything was there. This was a gift I had purchased for a friend so I didn’t go through the bag immediately after picking it up. A few days pass and I decide to start putting my friends gift together. One of the things I purchased was the Summer Fridays lip balm, it comes in a box. When I picked up the box I noticed the box felt light and I look inside and there is no lip balm just the box. I went back to the store and explained to one of the employees what had happened. She apologized and gave me a new one. I think someone had stolen the lip balm and put that box back on the shelf and unfortunately that was the one put in my pick up order. Please always make sure that the item is actually in the packaging before you leave the store!

huge store and it’s convenient to have a standalone sephora here, but employees feel standoffish and even racist. i was blatantly followed around in this store while window shopping for perfume and i’ve heard other first hand accounts of people being followed and denied the ability to bring strollers, treating people like criminals before they even shop. meanwhile following me i’m sure someone else less easy to profile is probably stuffing their pockets to the brim and i hope they are. great place to browse selection but i’d never contribute to this store’s sales if i had the choice.
