We had to euthanize our dog today. We brought our dog to this hospital before the decision was made. The doctor was so caring and so was the staff. My daughter brought our dog in alone and was having a hard time. They kept watch over our dog until she came back to pick me up. The staff offered us comfort and support. The doctor evaluated our dog and gave us her prognosis. He was very honest and empathetic to our situation. The process was so comforting and calming. I love this place.

Terrible service. Walk in with an emergency for my pet and after waiting 10 minutes to speak to someone they tell me they can't see my pet because they have too many on their case load already. They didn't even want to know what was wrong with my pet and were not even willing to look at her to give me peace of mind that it could wait until tomorrow. Very unsympathetic.....

I recently took my 16-year-old Yorkie to the Animal Emergency Center in Yorktown after he was showing symptoms of a stroke. Dr. Stiff was our vet, and I cannot say enough positive things about him and the care we received.Dr. Stiff was incredibly attentive and kind throughout the entire process. He took his time to explain everything in detail and was honest and straightforward about our options. I never once felt pressured into any decisions - he simply provided us with the information we needed to make the best choice for our dog.Despite the urgency of the situation, our wait time was minimal, and we were seen quickly due to the type of care our dog needed. I was also pleasantly surprised that we were not overcharged for the care we received.Overall, I am extremely happy with the care we received from Dr. Stiff and the Animal Emergency Center in Yorktown. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of emergency veterinary care. Thank you again for taking such good care of our Paddington!

Not only was the situation with how they handled the dying guinea pig disgusting but their responses to negative reviews definitely are a red flag. They lack accountability and seem to like to patient blame. How do you defend hanging up on a customer by simply saying calls get cut short? I would NEVER bring my animals here

We live in Virginia Beach and took our dog to an emergency vet clinic close by. After 1.5 hours of waiting with no help, we left for an hour drive to Animal Emergency Center; it was worth the drive! Even though they were busy, they managed to take our dog back for an exam in a few minutes' time. The vet was very thorough, and the staff was very courteous. The fees were very fair, too. Our dog is now recovering and getting better with each passing day. If we ever need an emergency veterinarian again, we will just head straight over the HRBT to Animal Emergency Center.

refusing to help a pet parent is disgusting. False accusations towards a family in distress and taking pictures of their license plate- despicable. Shame on this practice for not providing care to a helpless animal and immediately referring the family of a dying guinea pig to a vet practice that is competent enough to care for it or humanely euthanize it. 0 stars, disrespectful.

Horrible service the lady literally picked up my cousins sick guinea pig . By his little legs and dropped him back in the carrier. Then said they don’t take care of exotic animals .then a older white man was blocking my aunties car while taking pictures of her license plate also while my two little cousins were in the car.

I do not care what other people say these people are horrible and demented they watched my little cousins guinea pig die well they refused to care for a common guinea pig while they can take care of a deer possum duck owl in a raccoon they can't even take care of an animal about the size of an 11 year old's hand these are horrible people fully horrible I really wish they would get shut down and this is just horrible I feel so angry and just let them down look at some of the other reviews some of them are good but like a lot of them are actually bad these people are horrible and this lady dropped the guinea pig back into the cage so they said we can't treat or I'll give it a zero star review if I could she's not right

Careless group of people, they refused to treat a loved and adored guinea pig. Their carelessness and profiling caused a family (3 children) to lose their pet. The traumatic experience they had is unacceptable.

Dr. McNulty was excellent. Our dog was facing a life threatening illness. Dr. McNulty and staff out perform themselves. We are forever grateful!
