We bought a ferret from this location in late March for $300+, and by early June, he had passed away from a tumor that was already in the late stages. This store does not have their animals pre-assessed by a veterinarian before selling them, so buyer beware. We were told this ferret was "around one year old", but the vet laughed when we said he was that young...because he was clearly much older.
My daughter loved this little ferret with her whole heart, and I'm grateful we were able to give him a good life for the 2.5 months he was in our family. But this store should be ashamed of themselves for selling sick animals. I am not the type of person that leaves a bad review, but my daughter is devastated and this was so preventable.

Have shopped there for years, since they were a tiny place in Newport News. Always received phonominal customer service there and they are constantly looking to grow and improve. I look forward to seeing what they do in the next 10 years.

Staff is comprised of serious animal lovers. Always very helpful. It does usually sink a bit in this store... but they have a lot of live animals so.... guess it comes with the territory.

Pet zone is okay. It is not very clean and has fairly high prices. It is one of the few places that carries food for our pets so there is not a very big choice.

The last three times I went into the store the rabbits had no hay or water. Rabbits depend on hay for good digestion and keeping their teeth from getting to long. Take care of them or don't sale them in your store.

This pet store is a great place to go for all types of reptile needs. The owner of the store is extremely knowledgeable but very busy, as he runs several locations and also does many different reptile conventions (Exoticon). My son picked up a sand boa from this store and she is a finicky eater, and hides all the time under the sand, but that's what that breed does in general. I love the selection of reptiles the store has and so does my son. And the two birds by the entrance are a trip. The macaw seems to get upset if you don't wave at it, which is kind of funny, and the cockatoo is nice. Neither bird is usually accessible to the public but occasionally the cockatoo is by the register. It let me pet it and wanted to climb up my arm. The staff does stay pretty busy due to the sheer number of animals they have to care for. (I believe the owner told me he has more than 1,000 snakes in the back that he breeds and deals). So as long as you like reptiles, and you aren't in a super big hurry to go someplace else, you should be good. I can't comment on the critters and pet food for dogs/cats, fish, etc, because we're never there to look at or buy those things.

We got our rats here. They were amazing and knew a lot about the animal when we asked! 100% recommend for any small animal/reptile purchasing. actually, we are thinking about getting a ball python here. ( of course, the rats and ball python will be seperated)

I love this place. This is where I buy my dragons and all their food supplies. The owner and his daughter are so polite and helpful. I drive from Williamsburg all the way to Yorktown just to get my supplies and animals from them. Love these guys. I got these two big boys from them, back in June and July

Decent exotic pet store. Several types of bird and many types of reptiles and arachnids. Also has feeder insects for reptiles.
