Huge fan of the "Safeway for You" program! I appreciate money saved and the availability of motorized shopping carts. Gas rewards program is greatly appreciated, as well. Sometimes we use reward points for food items.

As a trans female, the employees stare at me, follow me, and rarely smile or help. And I always expect to be chosen last for services. There are some nice employees that do go the extra mile and are a pleasure to chat with, and they definitely deserve more.
The prices can be good, but only if use the app and get the deals + cashback + promos. GET THE APP! Scan everything.
The price tags often don't match the app, so you end up paying more at checkout than expected, and unfortunately most of the cashiers don't know about what deals are what, so a good practice is to take a picture of the tag on the shelves to show them when checking out.
The store is not very clean and, in fact, is downright gross. When you move the items on the shelves in the cold isles, you'll be met with wet rust. Yuck. They put cardboard items on there, too. Um, no thanks.
The deli has the best fried chicken in the city for $1.69 for a thigh, but they often don't use gloves, they mix the food without care, and they spill all over their floor that bounces back up on the food. But the corn dogs and burritos are okayish, too.
I never use public restrooms, but I have seen theirs, and it looks like a run-down port-a-poty at a construction site in Hanford, CA. I think only the junkos use it to get high since they seem to have the code memorized.
The area is highly dangerous. If you sit at the bus stop, don't, it's git pee and poop on it, and throw up too.
Dangerous people do drugs and sleep all around it, and when you leave the store, they will try and follow you to your car or to your home.
The police are always there.
The employees smoke right next to the doors, so expect your kids to get a big whiff of cancer.
Don't set your bags down on the ground, it's covered in everything, including blood and stool.
Wipe the cart handles down.
It's like shopping at a sophisticated Kmart that is still 20 years behind.
The customers can be violent and often say racist and homophonic things.
But if you can stomach it all, they have good products and the again the chicken is delicious.

So it was my sons birthday party and I went to the Safeway in Olympia and they totally messed up the football theme cake, I called Aberdeen to see if they were able to help since the party was in Elma, not only were they able to remake a football cake for 20 people within 1 hour but they also tossed in a smash cake that looked just like a football, I’m very happy and thankful for the bakery staff on7/6/24 I appreciate you for lifting the stress of my shoulders!

Formatted like a prison, alarms and locks every 20 feet, required a code for the bathroom, but had to walk from one end of the store and back again because the only person allowed to know the code is the customer service. Don't give money to this detention center of a store.

Joe brought out our pick up order and loaded it into the vehicle for us. He was extremely careful with our groceries and made sure everything was packed well to get it home safely. Always a pleasure shopping at Safeway, thanks to your great staff!

I had a Down syndrome guy and his sidekick lady. Try to tell me I couldn’t pick the fresher fried rice. When I ordered the chinese food . Because the other pan looked old and stale. I’m paying for my food. And the Chinese food was gross. I had a big chunk of meat . The size of a golf ball. Threw it all away .
