I live in Anacortes and I have shopped here a lot and after years of shopping here I finally have to say something. It’s a wine store that carries some interesting things but ultimately it’s always a frustrating experience. I still can’t wrap my head around how they organize their wine. Zero indication (region, variety, etc) to point you in the right direction. You will find a $166 bottle wine right next to a $21 wine. That’s fine, but in the overall confusion of the place that adds to the frustration. Customer service is very hit or miss. For instance, today, the two people behind the counter were too engrossed in their conversation about Quentin Tarantino movies to acknowledge us. But other times I’ve had employees be very helpful. It’s a somewhat hard place to browse. But if you know exactly what you want, just ask…Compass has wines/spirits you can’t find elsewhere in Anacortes.

Terrible online shipping on wine. They don't tell you that they wait to ship until they have a pallet. Then they ship to another facility. We ordered in April and It's June and we still don't have the wine.We have ordered from serval places online and wine is shipped quickly. Compass wines has had our wine in transit for weeks. Who knows how it's been stored. We will never order from here again.(Added 6/22) I appreciate the reply on google but never heard back from you at all. The wine was finally delivered and I appreciate that. When I contacted your company in May, I was told you had to wait until a pallet of wine was ordered to send to the next distribution point(California in my case). In other words, my order would be delayed until that happened. When I have previously ordered a case of wine from an online vendor out of state, a case of wine got shipped. If I was prepared for a 8 week wait it would have been fine but that was not clear at all when I ordered. I do have to say when I reached out to them after the delays they were quick to respond to tell me why and I do appreciate that.

I walked in 3 minutes before close needing a shipping box for my Whidbey Island winery finds. The staff was super helpful and had me set up before closing time. Their wine selections looked amazing!
