I had the Smashburger at dad’s diner this afternoon. It was very good and put together in a paper wrap But lacking presentation. The butt end of the buns were facing you, and at the bottom of the wrap, the double patties, cheese, and liquid were leaking out. But the mustard dill sauce was very good. I would highly recommend it, but hope they present it in a better manner.

Loved this spot and can’t wait to go back. Great menu with lots good options. I’d describe it as slightly elevated diner food. Had all the basics but more quality than your average greasy spoon. Service was pretty friendly and attentive. They also have their own habenero hot sauce which was pretty good. Fun decor that demonstrates they’ve been a staple around there for a while. Really want to go back for lunch sometime soon.

Hospitality second only to the food quality! It's my favorite place to get a pancake bigger than Alaska. It's called a buttermilk pancake, but I suspect sourdough. It's thin, zingy and moist. I order an egg and a breakfast side meat, of which I vary, because they are all so good. The coffee keeps coming. It's strong enough to satisfy, but weak enough so if you have 3 cups, your not a snapping turtle. Today I returned to my car to find I'd left the lights on in my car and - well, it is called Dad's Diner, you know, so I went back in with a feather boa of jumper cables and a couple if fine customers helped me out. Gotta love Dads!

A quaint diner that reminds me of a 1950s pit stop on a road trip across America. Try the Cuban sandwich for an amazing flavor! Their potatoes are awesome, and the avocado toast is delicious.

The service is wonderful, very polite staff with an upbeat attitude. They go out of their way to make your experience great. The atmosphere is very homey. Lovely pictures and collections abound to the point you forget you're waiting for food. Plus, in my personal opinion, they choose wonderful music. The food is where we had the first issues. In our order, we had the Dad's Plate, the Korean Street Toast, and the Kid's Pancakes. From best to worst:The Korean Street Toast was phenomenal. Served with a side of JoJo's, everything was wonderful. The taste is something that's different enough from conventional diner food that you'll have a unique experience but same enough that even the least adventurous taste buds will be happy. The JoJo's were cooked perfectly with just enough seasoning to make them a delight. The Dad's Plate was definitely great. The eggs were cooked perfectly to the over easy request, the potatoes were done with only a few burnt bits (but what can you expect from home style breakfast potatoes?) The biscuit paired with the sweet jam was a wonderful choice. The sausage was, in our opinion, under seasoned. Extra peppery, which is unique, but missing out on the other seasonings you're used to with a breakfast sausage. The kid's pancakes were where the most disappointment came from. Most likely cooked at too high of a temperature for miniature pancakes, they were slightly burnt on the outside while raw in the middle. The waitress who served us that day was kind enough to comp us for the food, so we didn't have to pay for it.Would recommend to friends and family.

My daughter and I spent a week touring Whidbey Anacortes etc. Every aspect of our visit felt refreshing clean and hopeful. Breakfast at Dads was no different and 5 stars means 5 stars. It’s been awhile since our visit but I am working in Las Vegas and noticed a Dads tee shirt hanging in our break area. Total surprised was followed by a gush of memories of our time there. Everything was incredible including Dads.

Dad's Diner deserves its high star rating that it currently holds. They had great food - I ordered a delicious pancake that looked like a crepe (pancrepe as they call it) which came with jam, butter, and syrup. And they had an amazing and kind staff that made the diner atmosphere super friendly. It's a great place to eat, and I'd recommend it!

If you visit Anacortes and you don't eat at Dad's, then you missed something special. Delicious food, cool atmosphere, kind owner. The meat they use in the Diner comes freshly cooked each day from the smoking trailer in the parking lot by O'Reilly's on Commercial. If you want BBQ meat by the pound, visit the trailer, if you want that meat crafted into an outstanding plate of flavor, visit the Diner.

I travel to Anacortes so I can eat at Dad’s Diner. If you’re wearing socks expect that they will be knocked off.
