They ruined my hair! I showed clear photos of what I wanted and they said no problem. They completely destroyed my hair, where I was embarrassed for a long time (until my hair was corrected by another salon). I asked for a refund and similar to other reviews the owner didn’t care or apologize. I had to go out in public with my clearly ruined hair and learned other people in the community have had their hair ruined by this salon.

Over the course of the past several years I have spent an estimated $8,000 - $10,000 at Red Salon in Anacortes for professional services and products. I like the Aveda brand and the convenience of the downtown location. While the owner has significantly increased the cost of services more than other salons, I tried to remain loyal to her and her business. The disappointing and short story is, after years of patronage to this business I received a botched color service from a junior team member filling in for the owner/stylist. I knew something was wrong because the foil process which normally takes 1-1/2 hours with blowout,
took a full three hours. I immediately reported my experience and my disappointment to the owner. She seemed sympathetic and offered to reschedule me with another stylist who would attempt to correct the obvious color mistake. The new stylist did her best to correct the bad color, but I had to wait another month to get the full correction to avoid risk of further damage to my hair. She did a good job and I paid full price plus tip for her work without objection.
To my surprise I received no follow up from my regular stylist/owner so I eventually reached out asking for a credit or refund for the original botched color service and subsequent attempted correction totaling $285.00. She flat out refused. Adding insult to injury, she tried to justify a $35.00 credit for the bad service, my time, and years of loyalty.
So no, I can no longer recommend Red Salon. My years of patronage and countless recommendations to Red Salon were not even worth a one time credit for receiving unprofessional services.

Alaina is amazing! Not only does she do a fabulous job with color and cuts for me, but she is so kind and patient with our son. She gave him his very first hair cut at 2 years old and has been cutting it ever since. He’s got curly hair that we keep about shoulder length and she always does such a great job. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality hair care in Anacortes.

From the outside, this place seems a little intimidating, but everyone I dealt with was super friendly and welcoming. Mercedes did a fantastic job of cutting my hair and making me feel comfortable. I was super pleased with the result, and the price was quite reasonable. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Anacortes.

Unprofessional is putting it nicely. I made an appointment a wk in advance when I arrived excited for my new hair I was told although the appointment was in fact made for the service I was asking for the stylist did not have time and I would need to reschedule. There was no explanation given followed by zero remorse. I live out of town and had taken time off work. 24 hr cancelation policy yet no respect for the customers time and effort. A call in advance would have been basic decency

I've been coming to Red Salon for around 3 or so years now. Jalyn has been awesome the entire time. She's flexible, works with my schedule, does a fantastic job, and really seems to enjoy what she does. Highly recommend setting up an appointment and dropping in. The entire staff is very professional and kind.I'll be continuing to come here, even after moving up to Bellingham. It's hard to find a stylist you click with, but this is definitely the place to go!Services: Haircut
