I've seen some pretty bad business practices lately with constantly rising costs. On our recent trip to Safeway we went to the register with 5x 12 packs of Soda. There was a discount under the price at the store showing buy two get 3 free (a deal Safeway has done before).
When we rang the purchase up we saw the discount was not applied. When we asked a store an employee why we were told "that's an in app or online discount only".
I can only assume many people are purchasing the same items this weekend and end up paying the marked up price thinking the discount applied properly. Listing the discount at the store and saying it only applies in the app or online is an incredibly shady business practice.
I am disappointed that with how high costs already are we are now having to check for items being listed improperly discounted in store. If this doesn't apply to in store purchases, remove the discounted price from the in store shelf.

I recently visited this Safeway and experienced quite an odd encounter. After waiting nearly 15 minutes to be acknowledged, a young employee finally (and rather nonchalantly) assisted me. I thanked him for his help, and his response? He meowed. Yes, he MEOWED. Like a cat. Having shopped at Safeway for years, I never expected such bizarre behavior. I left feeling both embarrassed and bewildered. Safeway, this is NOT the service I expected.

Perfect location! This is my favorite Safeway. The store is clean and well stocked. There is also a Starbucks in the store. We visited this location just before a whale watching tour, and we got donuts and coffee. I can wait to visit beautiful Anacortes again soon.

My daughter saw a stuffed animal in the floral department at the Oak Harbor Safeway she fell in love with. I went back a few days later and they were all gone. So I called this Safeway, in Anacortes, to see if they had any. The Customer Service rep (Traci) who took my call went above and beyond trying to find what I was looking for. She could have done 80% less and it would have been acceptable customer service. This speaks well to their team, management, and Traci in particular who helped me. It’s the only interaction I’ve had with this Safeway location but it was impactful. Thank you!

In town for just the day to ride the ferry with my family. I decided to stop here and get breakfast burritos. Now I did order 6 which I know is a big order but the gentleman at the counter started to cuss and sigh over the size of order. As he starts them a lady came by to help him with the order. As she made out order she didn’t ask what we wanted on the burritos and started throwing random stuff on there. When I asked to make changes she snapped at and gave attitude because she already put stuff on them that I didn’t even ask for. I just kinda stayed quiet after that and watched her slam our burritos on the counter in anger. If you can’t handle customer service please find a new job.

I've shopped at this store ever since my sister, Donna, started working there.The employees are great! Fried chicken is soooooo yummy!
