Great little place to crash before getting on the ferry the next morning.

Loved our room. Great water viewing and places outside to enjoy the view. Clean, quiet, and enjoyed it. Coffee area sink had some questionable rust, but we didn't use it. Breakfast is very basic, but okay with that. Happy with my stay and will come again.

The room was not much larger than the queen bed. It was very difficult for two elderly folks with light luggage. Wish the reservation site gave a hint as I later found out that they have larger rooms! The view from the room was great. The bed was comfortable.

Noteworthy details: Super close to catch the Anacortes Ferry. Great parking there for walk-ons to the ferry going to the San Juans

Beautiful place! Clean room w fridge/freezer. Laundry. Bed was comfy and nice linen/pillows.. I am a pillow gal.
Came in late w no reservation and Dan at front desk was very accommodating. I bought a bottle of local wine and hey offered a real wine glass.
Sat outside with the deer and watched the ferries come in.
Breakfast was fine but I don’t eat much. Had coffee on the beautiful patio. Did laundry in clean efficient machines.. which are rare. Usually they are filthy and not maintained.
Had to chase out a few bugs but that is normal for these areas. I have certainly seen worse in more expensive places.
Long post but I think the previous posts are not reflective of my experience at all.. but I travel a fair bit, so I am more resilient than most people.
Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again and recommend it!!
Rooms: Clean.
Noteworthy details: Laundry.

It's a nice hotel with a good view and the waffles are good. Only problem is that the back balcony on each room has an 8inch opening on top and bottom separating rooms. I could easily go under if I so choose. Lock your sliders folks.

The hotel was fine for the approx 9 hours we were there (most of which sleeping). The view was beautiful but the reception area was almost always closed and no one answered the phone. The rooms were definitely not clean, there was someone else’s hair in the shower & bathroom and the smell coming from the sink was disgusting. I showered with flip flops on just to be safe. The linens on the bed also felt kind of wet, not from humidity or something but like they took them out of the dryer too soon and just made up the bed to save time and they never fully dried.
I definitely wouldn’t stay here again but I have seen hotels that were worse. I think it would fine if it were more affordable but they are obviously trying to take advantage of inflation and up charge for what is basically a motel. I’m honestly only giving 1 star because they do NOT deserve the 4 star rating they currently have.
Rooms: Definitely not clean, bring shower shoes.
Walkability: Literally no walkability at all
Food and drinks: As the receptionist said, there is no bar but they’ll sell you a bottle of wine when/if the reception area is open. No food, the included breakfast was just a couple pastries.

We had a ground floor room. The door to the patio did not lock. The front door security chain was broken. The Jacuzzi tub was filthy. The coffee maker had a used pod still in it. The Continental breakfast was minimal at best. There were no glasses for orange juice or milk. We had to use coffee mugs. We paid over $250 for a Thursday. So disappointed what we received or should I say, did not recieve for the high price.

I know everything is quite a bit more expensive these days, but the room quality did not match our expectations for $550 for 2 nights. We stayed in the cottage that has a queen bed and pullout couch. Our linens were clean, the hard floor was sticky if you walked barefoot, and it initially smelled like wet dog to us, which does make some since with it being a pet friendly room. There was a kitchenette with 3 large plates, 2 small plates, and 1 bowl. I don't remember any silverware. The in room keurig was nice to have, but we primarily had coffee at the continental breakfast, which is what you would expect for free hotel breakfast.
There are some nice outdoor seating areas near the check-in office for visiting with family, which we enjoyed using.
Our poor experience happened on our last day when family went to breakfast, and the lady working notified them that she had COVID and a fever and stated that her manager made her come to work. She refused to wear a mask as it would "suffocate" her. We skipped breakfast and did contactless checkout since we had our baby with us and didn't want to expose our child directly to COVID if we could avoid it.

The person that works the desk at this hotel is the rudest person I have ever dealt with at a hotel. He charged us $50 for a pet fee and we don’t even own a pet! No pet ever entered the property and he refused to look at the cameras to verify this. He claimed he had photos but wouldn’t share them and then hung up on me. Totally unprofessional and rude. We had a large party and 4 rooms there total. Rooms were not even cleaned the 2 day and they claimed there were “pet hair fibers on the carpet.” The person in that room does not even own a pet. Horrible experience there- they are never in the office and often don’t answer the phone.
*The comment from the Inn is not true. I said I would check to see if our nephew ever came over with his dog to pick up my sister from another unit and he did not. Show us a photo of the dog entering. You are such liars!!! Maybe if you didn’t hang up on me you would have heard that!. Show us the footage you claim to have!! I am a very reasonable person that would never lie about a $50 fee. Do you really need the money that bad to charge for something that didn’t happen? Wow. Keep doubling down dude.
Rooms: Horrible housekeeping and management.

See our room experience below. I don’t write reviews, but in this case, I didn’t want others to feel as jipped as we did. We saw the positive reviews so booked it. Was our room the only “sad” one in the hotel?? And from now on…when I see the word “quaint” in the description, we’ll scroll on by! Quaint is not the same as old, musty, and in need of repair!
Rooms: Our stay was not positive, in spite of positive reviews! Maybe we had the only old, musty, in need of repair or total renovation room in the place. Not sure. We were charged $200 /night for the following:
*If you were on the bed next to the window, you could see out or someone could see in about 8 or 9 inches because the curtain hung too far into the room and left an opening even when closed all the way. Photo attached.
*The window in the room did not lock even though it was a ground floor room. Front desk man said if it makes you feel better, this area is very safe. Then he asked if I wanted to check out. After driving for 4 hours, unpacking and hubby was asleep….NO…that wasn’t an option. We are in our mid-70’s. I said, well for $200 a night, do you at least have a stick I can put in the window track since I feel uncomfortable. He did produce a stick.
Photo attached.
* The bathtub drain would not drain when taking a shower. I looked at the drain and it was full of hair.
* When getting ready to leave, I was making sure we had left nothing, so opened a dresser drawer and the front came off. I carefully reattached it so they wouldn’t blame us. Photo attached.
* The bathroom was very said. One example photo attached.
* We had been gone the next day to a double header baseball game, and when we returned, we were locked out of our room. Our room keys didn’t work. The front desk man said he had no clue why that happened. When he brought new card keys he also brought a silly little plastic mechanism that was supposed to lock the window. We couldn’t get it attached so continued to use the stick.
I have attached photos of a room that should not have been rented or at the least not for $200 a night. Won’t be back and will tell others of our experience at Ship Harbor Inn.
Safety: Even though the doors locked, the window didn’t so your room was left wide open for anyone.
