Well we all know what a trip to D.M.V. can be like, we go loaded for bear. However today's trip to D.M.V. was so cool. The office at Smokey Point, and the folks that help me, were above and beyond the call, Good Folks. Thanks for the help.

No line. Waited 2 minutes to be helped. Love the way they run the department. Very efficient.

Unbelievable how in 2023 there is no awareness or sensitivity to people with disabilities. My brother came here to receive his drivers license since he had just moved to Washington. Upon halfway through the process the lady assisting him had a hesitation weather my brother will get his license while taking his picture. She took it upon herself to determine if my brother is able bodied to drive a motor vehicle based on his appearance. This isn’t up to her if she felt comfortable or not issuing a well qualified person to receive their driver’s license. Not only did she discriminate against a person with a disability, but she TAUNTED him when he accidentally dropped his license due to her harassment. She was making him anxious by proceeding to say see you can’t even hold your license. She even tried to assume a role of a medical professional by attempting to say that his diagnoses may have gotten worse throughout the years. He has been driving since 16 years of age in a busy city, who or what makes you seem like you’re a person who can determine how they drive based on appearance? Will be letting the ADA know of this inhumane experience he was subjected to.

I been here 3 times and only the second time the lady at the front desk knew what she was talking about, the last time I was there on 02/03/23,,the lady at the front desk didn't have a clue of what she was talking about,,this days is really hard to talk to a real person on the phone, you have to be on hold minimum 30 min ,and sometimes the y hang up on you so I decided to go in person and this person didn't know the answer to any of my questions why will dol , hired a person with no skills for that job

Very easy going, however, Janet at the front desk is very rude to everyone who walks in. While I was there she turned multiple people away, because she didn’t want to be there past 4:30pm. She raised her voice at a man who could not speak perfect English and it just made him more confused. She told some people it would be an hour wait and others a two hour wait. She was rude to all the parents who came in with there kids when she could have simply explained what they needed to do and go. She is the face of that office and for that she should not be the rudest person they have up front.

The larger lady with black hair and red accents in it, working the front reception area needs to learn some manners. Yelling because someone didn't hear you the first time doesn't help. Have some patience and learn common courtesy. Noon is hardly the end of the day to be grumpy already. The lady that actually helped when my number was called however was very nice and helpful.

I’m still struggling trying to get back on my feet. I thought I read on the website that there was the option for 1 year, 6 year and 8 year license. I was hoping to do a 1 year cuz I’m so broke it’s not funny. Instead of your such amazing employee showing any kind of compassion or understanding of the situation. I was forced to get the 6 year. Which after paying the fee I had 6$ left for gas for work that day. And right now we know that 6$ doesn’t get you anything. Thank you once again for proving that the government is nothing but a scam and that this country is a joke.

I went to the Drivers License office and asked the reception woman if I could just ask her questions. I had the paper that shows you a list of items to bring for this or that, and I always get overwhelmed with all the options on the page and confused on what I actually need in order to do the specific thing I am trying to do. She was so patient and calm, explaining exactly what I needed, and then highlighting my paper for me so I could focus on those items and not the overwhelming amount.I felt like I was treated as a human, by very kind and patient humans, in state positions that deal with so much every day I don’t blame them if they have poor attitudes or days, but instead.. They were just the most humanizing experience I have ever had at any of these departments. So, thank you so much. I am so grateful.

SO needs an EDL since our trip to Victoria BC was within three weeks and the passport was no where to be found! It was nerve wracking… I went online on 7/25 to make a reservation and pick the Arlington office since it was reachable and had the earliest available spot on the 27th. Two minutes after that I was able to locate an appointment in the Shoreline office for myself on the 26th.Both appointments went smoothly. Visiting the Arlington office turned out to be a very pleasant experience. It was easy to locate, with plenty of parking spots, the lady at the reception desk was friendly and seemed very helpful to the walk-in visitors. Social distancing was well observed here. Arlington seems like a super nice area! Okay that was a bit too far out of the line. Anyhoo SO received the EDL on 8/8. While mine is on the way and probably would arrive on 8/9.Walk-ins are currently accepting at the DOL but I think the wait would be long (around one and a half hour wait for the driver’s license application). I highly recommend an appointment. They stopped processing EDL applications one hours before closing for the walk-in applications. The DOL website that makes appointments was actually easy to use and the appointments can be canceled or edited. I was able to get my appointment at the Shoreline office on the next morning probably because someone had just canceled. So check back often if you would like an earlier appointment.
