I've never really had to ask for help before, but I've lived in arlington for almost 10 years and have never had any issues here. It's always clean and has what I need

This store is so lacking in good customer service they should just have robots working here! Rude women at customer service counter. Prefer human checkers to self serve, but most do not know how to properly bag groceries. Prices are higher than other stores. Remodeling just goes on and on. You can't get an employee to help you find items. The temperature of the store is freezing along with wet/cold carts outside that hurt your hands. Overall a miserable store to shop in! There's maybe 4 actual good employees here. Most of the rest schlep around like zombies. I've been shopping here for 9 years since I moved to Arlington. I didn't think customer service, high prices, out of stock items could get worse after Covid. I was wrong!!

Went to this store to buy a money order like I have in the past I have $600.00 in cash and then was going to use my debit card to pay the $50.00 like I have in the past. No one ever told me they "can't" take cash and debit cards to pay for the money order, but on 8/3/23 at 10am I get this woman who absolutely refuses to take cash and debit to pay for the money order that the store has never done that and that "she" was not going to lose her job over selling me a money order. What happened to customer service? I wasn't going to the nearest store to have this person yell at me. I simply asked for a money order. She could have said, you can buy this amount with the cash and this amount with the debit card." Instead" she chooses to be combative making the whole thing about her and refuses to sell me the money order. I said ok and left. Went to Walmart and bought with no problem. I said is there going to be any problem with part of it being cash? She said "no" and boom there it was. I could have saved myself some time and frustration. I realize that a money order may not be a huge sale, but customer service "is" part of the job.

I paid 9 dollars for a small container of seafood salad in the deli department . The recipe must have changed to just imitation crab and sauce. I took one bite in disgust and could not eat another do to being bland and not good at all. The former recipe was much different and tasted good.

It's a typical Safeway. New renovations in progress currently for 2023. Gas station is here too.

This particular Safeway is always out of a lot of things and then just stops caring things that they used to carry. They cater extremely well to carnivores not so much to vegetarian or vegan's. I was almost able to buy their broccoli salad in the deli until I saw that there was bacon in it. It's sad that there's meat in everything and every salad and every wrap.

The Safeway on 172nd street is a great store in the bad section of town. Shop there if you enjoy beggars and drug addicts. Not a safe area.

Yesterday (4/21/2021) went to this location knowing they serve pre cooked meal so i don't have to cook that day. Being all day at work so nice that i can go here and buy some pre cooked meal. But anyway I ordered Shanghai Meal and had to wait for eggrolls because they are making it fresh. As i was waiting another customer came also ask the lady behind the counter ask she ordered customer said"can i please have one order Shanghai Meal" The respond of the lady who works and serves the food safeway deli associate said "u want Shanghai Meal they went home already to china" while she was saying that her and the customer was looking at me at laughing. And yes I am Asian. I think that is inappropriate. Why do you have to look at me yes I am Asian but that kind of comment is not appropriate. And also the same associate was talking to a child touched her face and the associate never wash her hands she just went on and help another customer...

This Safeway in Arlington on 172nd st. is dirty especially the carts are filty. There are never enough checkers and the lines are long. The checkers seemed overworked and not very friendly. The biggest thing about this store is they force you to sometimes to help bag your own groceries and always lift your groceries into your own cart. I have a bad neck and back so I dread going there for groceries .. It's always a lot of work for me to load my cart. With the high prices we pay there they should have a bag person. If I don't load my cart the groceries stack up at the end of the belt and the checker moves on to the next person then I am forced to load my cart and hurry. It's horrible and our only grocery store option in the area. With all of the apartments going in across street and behind Safeway, I am anticipating it only getting worse. Please Safeway help your customers at checkout and clean your carts.

DO NOT BUY their "Holiday Meals"!!! I assume this goes for all Safeways. I paid $72.97 for the "Spiral Ham Holiday Meal". I assumed it would be the ham and all the sides would be from the deli. I thought they would be boxed up and I would only have to put them in the oven to reheat. This was NOT the case AT ALL!!! Everything came as frozen microwave meals right out of their freezers. The ones you find in the freezer boxes at the front of the store where you can get the deli chicken and soup etc. I had ordered two extra sides and the girl literally walked over to the freezer and grabbed them from there. So basically I had a bunch of microwaved side dishes for my guests. The ham was a regular one that you find with the other hams that you have to cook and takes just as long. These are all things I could have purchased shopping for myself. I am so embarrassed in front of my guests. I chose to pick up the "meal" on Christmas Eve thinking it would be fresh, and like I said, just need some reheating. DO NOT BUY unless you want frozen microwave dinners for Christmas!!!

Every time I buy Deli Rotisserie Chicken from Arlington Safeway Deli, it's a gamble if it's throughly cooked. I live in Darrington, Washington and it's not worth the time and effort to return it back to the store for a refund.

They have been closing the deli down around 7pm each night. Because they do not have enough staff working in the Deli. They have been feeding all the left over hot food to a local pig farm.

The bakery is amazing! I called this morning and asked for a rush order for a cake to be named and a cupcake for smashing(1 year old smash cake) because we had an emergency with the cake we were going to make for the party. They helped us find a sheet cake that was close to our theme and gave us a big cupcake as the smash cake! They had it ready in an out and saved our party!
