We visited this store a few times during our stay in Cougar Rock Campground. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, everything was overpriced. Especially $15 for a bundle of firewood was striking (low quality wood). Been in many National Parks, never seen that expensive firewoods, that was unpleasant. Please bring your own firewood, they sell a few miles from the park entrance. They sell hiking tools as well if you want to do some serious hikes. Can find limited cold foods as well. I think good to have the store in the park for urgent needs, but would come to the park prepared in the first place.

The staff is rude and uncivil. I rented equipment here that was defective and they still charged my card. Be careful purchasing stuff here... They've concealed defective products in their line up.

Do NOT rent snowshoes here! We walked on fresh powdery snow for a couple of hours and the part of the snowshoe that connects to your boot broke half way through the hike. They then charged $150 to my card without me authorizing it. It’s a scam to give out old snowshoes and charge rental customers full replacement price when they break!

This review is just to share that the Longmire general store does NOT rent cross-country skis as listed on the Nat’l Park website. They directed us to exit the park and rent elsewhere near Ashford. It seems they have a few wooden skis and boots left from when they used to rent, but don’t have most boot sizes. They do rent snowshoes.

I will be back we decided to stop here and get all my souvenirs and head back out of the park. It was a cloudy day so Mt. Rainer was hiding.

Beautiful gift shop. Strictly following COVID19 guidelines which is totally appreciated. If you are looking for a Big Foot or a Yeti souvenir you won’t find anything there. It isn’t allowed. You have to get those souvenirs at the gas station in Ashford. But a great place for getting local produced Huckleberry products and it’s important that we all support local small businesses right now! They need us now more than ever!

A lot of good things to buy at a place way far up in the mountains. They had some basic food items if you were camping or on a weekend stay at a cabin rental and also many nice souvenirs. Good selection of apparel and Mt. Rainier souvenirs you can't find anywhere else. A must stop if you make the trip up the mountain.
