This used to be a lovely place to eat after a day of hiking, but we've been disappointed too many times in the last year. We arrived just as they opened for dinner with only one other couple in the room. We waited one hour, 10 minutes for our food which arrived cold and dreadfully overcooked. I hate to never come back, but if we're going to pay close to $140 for dinner for two, I have higher expectations.

Like other reviews have said, this place is disappointing in quality of food and service. Although the restaurant was empty when we arrived around 2:30pm, we waited about 20 minutes to be seated. Multiple staff members made eye contact with us but made no attempt to seat us.When we were finally seated we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. When we flagged a waitress down to order, she said she couldn't take our order (understandable) but they gave zero indication when we could expect someone to take our order. We ordered fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder and it was just not good. I couldn't finish the fish and just had to settle on eating fries for lunch because it was the only thing that was edible once doused in ketchup. When it came time for our check, we flagged a waitress down and paid on the spot as we were scared it would take another 20 min of us waiting - we noticed other customers were doing this as well due to how slow service was.Don't recommend coming here at all - you're better off getting a frozen dinner at a grocery store and heating it up in your hotel room.

The National Park Inn Dining Room at Mount Rainier National Park is a hidden gem that combines delectable cuisine with a rich historical setting. With its captivating history, exceptional service, advantageous location, and the breathtaking view of Mount Rainier from the terrace, the dining room promises an unforgettable experience. Whether you're seeking a place to relax and savor a meal after exploring the park or simply want to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, The National Park Inn Dining Room offers a perfect blend of history, hospitality, and natural splendor. My family and I loved it !

This place needs Gordon Ramsey. Food was salty and dry like it had been in an air fryer. When paying a premium the quality needs to be much better. Carmina Burana was playing as the musical selection. You can’t make this stuff up.

ALWAYS our go-to when up at Mt Rainier. Wish Rainier Services would mimic their Paradise Lodge Inn restaurant more like this one. But, caution on their hours! We drove down from Paradise just to have lunch before they closed for lunch, and they were closed at least a half hour before the website AND their menu showed. We had out-of-state guests, and I was NOT a "happy camper" and I voiced it!

I didn't expect much because of the reviews, but my friend and I were pleasantly surprised!I'd recommend making a reservation at the front desk (day of was okay) for dinner. We split a wild rice salad with chicken, the roasted chicken, and a berry crumble dessert. All of which were pretty substantial and tasty! The roasted chicken came with crispy brussels sprouts and roasted potatoes. The chicken was flavorful and juicy. The dessert came warm with cream on top and it was very enjoyable as it wasn't too sweet. There were 2 servers so it was a bit short-staffed, but they were friendly and the food didn't take long. Overall it was a great dinner, I definitely was surprised the other reviews were so low.

It didn't have as much of a wait as the grab & go at the Paradise Lodge but I still wish we would have gone there instead. Their banh mi was exciting to see on the menu but was very disappointing. The Sriracha aioli tasted like 1000 Island and their pickled vegetables were lackluster and scarce. There was almost no cilantro on it at all either and we wound up asking for 2 extra servings of it. The sandwich basically came out as a lump of tofu on bread with hardly enything else that makes it such a refreshing option. To their credit, the tofu was done really well!We also ordered a kids grilled cheese with fruit as the side. While most of the other fruits (grapes & strawberries) were still firm, there was a generous helping of blueberries... but half of them were rotten balls of mush.It was a 90⁰ day at Longmire and although I would never complain about the lack of AC in a historical building, refills on cold water would have been much appreciated without me having to wave the server down with both arms because they just aren't being aware. I'm not usually this complainy but wow...

You won’t get seated quickly and the food is terrible. You’re paying $30 for a burger that the cook will serve well done even though you ordered medium rare. They provide u packets of ketchup instead of a bottle. Real top tier for a place you’re spending no less than $100 on. The waiter is horrible. Hope you not vegan, vegetarian or eat strictly kosher cause they will not accommodate and make fun of you for asking in the kitchen, which you will hear cause the door is open. Don’t eat here. Don’t waste your time.Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options unless u like a small side salad.Dietary restrictions: They don’t accommodate. They used the pitcher for lemonade to serve water. They rinsed it out and called it good. So be aware if you have allergies cause the do not follow serve safe.

Service was fast, and my waitress was super nice. You can't beat the atmosphere of eating breakfast in a historic national park lodge before hiking in epic scenery.

There's alot going on with this place. It's a historic building and I don't think the dining room has ac so the weather will be a factor in how enjoyable your experience is. We stopped in for dinner after a few hikes and were promptly seated but I felt like we waited about 10 minutes before anyone ever took our order. It wasn't very busy. There were 2 servers for 7 tables but our server was very nice once she came by. The prices were a little steep but the portions were generous. The roasted chicken was amazing! Probably the best roasted chicken I've ever had. Bison meatloaf was pretty good as well. The salads looked very impressive as well. Carrot cake was decent. It was a good meal but you're paying for an "in the park" premium.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

We stopped by for some lunch/dinner.We where told no serving on the veranda as no staff available. So agreed to stay inside. Waited 5 min and no one came to seat us. It’s pathetic to see this place with this potential and location not be able to get staff. Carpark was full of cars and potential customers.Such a shame.

Went in for lunch. Only 2 people in there finishing their meals. After we were seated we waited for 15mins with no one coming to take our order. We left and I doubt they even noticed.

Food quality overall was disappointing. Burger was expensive for what we got: no "cook to order" and cheese that was not fully melted. Dining room ambience wasn't there, either. No music to fill the air, tables a little tight (again, considering the cost). Location is great but the meal was not worth the price. Servers were amiable, though.

Worst dining experience we ever had and that was our anniversary dinner! No sense of presentation, food tastes awful, way over priced! Highway robbery! Run!
