Fred Meyer is a pioneer of one-stop shopping, combining a complete grocery supermarket with a drugstore, clothing, home decor, home improvement, garden, electronics, toys, sporting goods, and more under one roof. Many customers appreciate the convenience of having multiple stores within a store for everything from groceries and clothing to a bag of screws or pool chlorine. Food prices are generally considered decent. The store receives a mix of feedback, described as a love/hate relationship. Positive notes highlight efficient pharmacy services, faster checkers, and the popularity of self-checkout. Specific staff members, particularly in self-checkout and general merchandise, are commended for exceptional, friendly, and helpful customer service, with some employees remembered for going above and beyond to assist. The floral department is praised for fresh, vibrant displays and beautiful arrangements. However, several frustrations are consistently mentioned. The store layout is criticized, with complaints that aisles are too narrow and often clogged by large online order carts and excessive aisle displays, making navigation difficult. The new layout is faulted for separating general merchandise and for placing alcohol in a locked cabinet at the back of the store, which inconveniences shoppers. Additionally, some signs are noted as being placed too high to read easily. Despite these drawbacks, it remains a go-to grocery store for many.

I mostly use the pharmacy but the biggest draw for Fred Meyer is the one stop shopping. I've been going there for 50 years, since I was a kid.
