I had an overall OK experience here, it was my first time purchasing a handgun and when I went in I did get a basic overview of some different models that fit what I was looking for. Once I decided to purchase, things got a little lazy. The staff knew I was new to WA, and never told me how to background check process worked, what the waiting period was, or what else would be required of me (the whole process involves at least 3 trips to the shop). After paying for the firearm, I exchanged maybe 7 sentences between then and when I actually left with it. There were a few times were I asked a question and was just looked at. I did have a good experience with James, he was very helpful and organized. The other employees were pretty blunt and didn't seem like they wanted to be there or were interested in helping me out with what I was looking for.
Bottom line: If you know what you are looking for this is a great shop. If you are newer to firearms, I'd probably go to a smaller, more local shop with some more passionate folks running it. No harsh feelings towards anyone here, its just that I didn't feel as comfortable as I would have hoped in this process.

My son and I took the Handgun fundamentals class. It was very well instructed and covered so many critical areas, always focused on safety and responsibility. We both learned so much and felt very comfortable asking questions and getting extremely clear, well thought out and complete answers. Very welcoming atmosphere and the array of handguns we used was incredible. I couldn't recommend Rainier more!

This place is a shell of what it used to be. Ordered small parts online for local pickup, but they have to ship from Kansas. Need gunsmithing, send to Kansas. Need to cancel or change an order, no one answers the phone or email. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Lost 1 star for each of the following.
1) No front sight fiber optic rod at time of purchase. I was assured, repeatedly, they would reach out to the manufacturer and get one delivered. Shockingly it wasn't done by day of pick-up...17 days later.
2) I had to ask for the magazines. Not a huge deal, but this was even after 3 different people had gone through the bag checking items out, then being told I was good to go. Then I was given just 1 mag and had to say, you're not serious that this thing only comes with 1 magazine. It was supposed to be 2 and I got 2.
3) Day of purchase I was told about a free holster that comes with purchases over a certain dollar amount. I said, absolutely!
Another shocker... it wasn't available when I picked up the handgun. I would have to leave it longer to have the holster made. I guess the 17 days it was there wasn't long enough. I said, no, I'm good. I'm not leaving it here longer with the hopes of getting it done.
I guess its a good thing there are plenty of other gun stores I can walk into going forward.

Got my gun cleaned and prepped by Rainier Arms & Auburn Gunsmithing Dept.! I love how it turned out. I plan on coming back to grab my next gun from them. Incredibly happy with my experience here.

In my personal experience, the quality of customer service has gone down quite a bit. I have been coming to Rainier Arms for years, since day first opened in Auburn Washington. One can't even talk to a libe person during business hours because nobody picks up the phone. Yes I said during business hours. There is a lady working there that shouldn't be in this line of work. For one, you can't understand her, really thick accent, and two, she has no clue and can't answer the simplest questions without googling it. Other than that, I love the place, and the products that they have.
