If you're looking for a great steering box, this is the place. They are very helpful and will walk you through anything and everything. I got the quicker steer and it drives like a newer pickup now. It's a lot nicer to drive and more fun! I had some questions after I received it and they were very helpful and walked me through them. Highly recommend them. Great people to work with. Derek took care of me. I put this new Red-Head steering box on my F100 1/2 Ton Shortbed Ford with a big block.

My 2004 Jeep WJ with a 4 inch lift started wandering all over the road like a drunk driver about 4-5 years after I lifted it. I was having to white-knuckle it through narrow lanes or road construction just to keep going straight and I felt like Skipper trying to keep course on the SS Minnow when the weather started getting rough…I replaced the ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings, and other bits…..nothing. Finally ordered the Red-Head steering box and installed it myself using some YouTube videos and my Haynes manual. It was relatively easy and straight forward to do. Now I can drive one-handed with confidence! It has that tight direct-feeling steering like a go-cart! I am very pleased with it and highly recommend Red-Head!

Bought two boxes the first one had issues literally right after the warranty and the second one was the wrong steering ratio and had to use it bc the second didnt have a warranty which ended up blowing a seal dont plan on buying a third

I can’t say enough about the quality of my redhead steering gear that I recently installed in my 2000 Jeep Cherokee daily driver, it’s steers better than a BMW and the installation was so simple the steering gear bled the air out without a problem I recently put 2000 miles on it Headache free you really have to appreciate good old made in the USA American quality parts because they’re getting hard to find my opinion is Everybody should buy one of these if they need one well worth the money. Derek and the crew definitely know how to build a strong product

Purchased a steering box for a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 classic, totally outperformed the original and ZERO leaks. Only issue now is having to clean the mess the old one left! Just what we needed, thanks guys

Stock box has a leak,orderd one they next day air it.Got a 4 turn for 38s It's is way more powerful. Can steer with my pinky at highway speed. I GUESS ,I JUST GOT TO GET USE TO IT.They told me all boxes are the same ,hydroboost doesn't matter. Very happy with it so far .

This product is by far the best product on the market! I was lost on trying every option available to correct the steering on my lifted Bronco, I was at the end and contemplating selling it! Until googling all the issues I was having and it led me to red head! I gave in and OMG, the difference in that truck is going from a twice a week to literally an everyday if I wanted! Just the safety aspect is enough alone to BUY REDHEAD! I challenge anyone on this!

one of THE BEST things I’ve ever purchased for my vehicles. I’ve had a couple 99-07 ford superduties. They have always had weak steering especially with bigger tires.
I installed the redhead box on my 2001 excursion. It’s lifted with 35 inch tires. I can one finger turn in and out of parking spots now. It’s literally night and day. It’s a whole new truck.
One high quality product as well. It came packaged so well. Super instructions included. For real, a genuinely happy customer. Wish I would’ve bought one sooner.

I had constant trouble with my 77 F150’s stock power steering. The steering gear would leak huge puddles, usually Intermittently and I spent hundreds of dollars (and hours?) on new seals and kits. What was worse was it was all in vain- a few times a year on rough terrain would mean play in the wheel, and more leaks. This time around I used all beefed up drag links, tie rods, a pitman arm and of course- a Redhead steering gear. We had some back and forth on which gear since my truck has a mix of parts, but they came through with the right parts. No leaks, no play- couldn’t be happier. It actually steers easier and maybe even tighter than my 22’ F150. The product is top shelf, and the service, if possible, is even better than that.

Great customer support, very helpful with explaining the product with the customers via email and over the phone. They have fast turn around and shipping and good warranty. Product works as should and meets and exceeds oem standard. If you are looking for a great gearbox definitely reach out to them. Running the 4 turn tapped box on my 99 Cherokee xj with no issues.

My new Red-Head steering gear works fantastic! This was the second steering gear I purchased after the LARES rebuild I purchased had excessive lash straight out of the box. The Red-Head bolted right up to the original mounting holes with the new Pitman Arm hardware. I never thought my 1975 F100 could have essentially lash-free steering. Definitely a great product and worth every penny!

I had a gear custom built by Red-Head back in 2009 for my 98’ Chevy K1500 suburban. I had them change it to a faster 2.5 turn steering ratio. It had zero tolerance and was tight as could be. I can say safely say that after almost 15 years later and 80k + miles it is still running strong with 35” tires. Cannot say enough good things about this company and continued customer service through the years.
