Where did all the chickens go? The Bay Hay Rooster signage & 'all are welcome' warmth, that existed for decades has been removed from our local neighborhood cafe. Coffee and pastries are still locally sourced, thankfully.

I remember the coffee being good; but not high enough quality to balance out the unfriendliness of the staff. I had a better time getting coffee from the Italian restaurant across the street. It's tough to have a good morning when I'm made to feel that my presence is a burden. An improved hello upon entry and less "you can wait outside in January, your drink will be placed on the table at the back door". Stick to the Winslow coffee shops; or look into an espresso from a nearby restaurant before going here.

A cool, relaxing, small coffee shop tucked away on Bainbridge Island, Good food n drink, better people! Worth the find and stop. If you make it, check out the garden off their back gazebo dining area.

Carly's changed ownership last year, but all the great service and food has continued. Yay! This is still my go-to local spot for a pastry and especially their cafe miel - sweetened with honey. My son gets either a kids hot chocolate (with whipped cream and sprinkles) or a vanilla steamer. He gives thumbs up to both.

The Valley breakfast wrap was delicious and the latte was good as well! Only giving 4/5 stars for atmosphere because there were crumbs on the tables but maybe it was just busy time and they hadn't got a chance to wipe them down ?

I love this little hidden gem of a cafe!! I know the owner Laura. She has done an amazing job! The selection if treats and drinks is so good! The staff are so sweet and kind. I got an americano and it was made perfectly!

I have been a big fan of rolling bay cafe for awhile! The food/coffee is fantastic! However the customer service of all the employees takes the experience to another level!!! Everyone is so friendly! Don't take my word for it. Go into rolling bay cafe and give it a try for yourself! I'm sure from the first visit you will love it just as much as I do! To everyone at the cafe: keep up the amazing work!

Bad service. Bad food.Sandwiches are not fresh made. Mine was cut in half. After I took one bite and it was just bread, I opened up the sandwich. It was basically only bread. There was one bite of turkey on the end.I alerted the staff and they said, “Oh.” They did not do anything or say anything else. I went back to the patio table where they heard me complaining through the open back door. They came out with their day old gross stuff and said I could take an old piece of scone or an old cookie since my $10 sandwich was just bread.

Why do I have to wait outside for my coffee while the barista prepares it and there is no one behind me? And, it is cold outside. The barista said it's not COVID precautions, but is the owner's policy so everyone has their own space. If it were cold and rainy, my personal belief is that "personal space" is replaced by common sense and compassion. I won't be coming back. (UPDATE: There was no misunderstanding. It is a one person at a time establishment although there was plenty of room inside for the woman in front of me who told me she was cold and me to be in the place at the same time. And to be brusquely told by the barista that I had to wait outside while she prepared my drink despite there being no one behind me was wrong. I’ve been coming here for years and yes, more than one customer at a time can easily fit — with no covid precautions—It is an absurd non-customer friendly policy especially during these cold, wet dark times. This is not a walk up coffee stand. It is a building with room for patrons to be warm and dry.)

The most charming treasure of a cafe! Name another coffee shop that puts you in a ten step radius of a beautiful garden, a little free library, and a hidden geocache. And, with a wedding-ready courthouse next door, it’s a romcom waiting to happen. Or, an excellent backdrop for your next PNW novel. The coffee: fantastic. I like sweet, my husband likes strong, they cover all grounds. In fact, when we found out our baby couldn’t have dairy, I made it a mission to find the G.O.A.T. alternative milk. So now I’ve tried a coconut milk mocha with coconut flavor at every shop around and can safely say Rolling Bay Cafe is the best (& best priced, to boot)Food-wise: Love the panini pressed sandwiches, especially the vegan breakfast wrap, & I could eat an obscene number of their raspberry oat bars. Snickerdoodle cookies, too.Their location: If you’re a tourist, you’re going to want to get a classic Bay Hay & Feed shirt next door anyway, so you should plan to get your coffee fix here before continuing on to Bloedel. If you’re a commuter, you should evade highway traffic on the backroads and stop here to start your morning off right (& petition COBI to allow drive thru). If you’re a local, you’re probably already lined up out the door.Service: Adore everyone at this place. The baristas are impressive multitaskers and so kind. Thanks for being such a bright spot in the community!Tl;dr: Best of the best 100/5

To be honest, I love this coffees shop. Its right by my house and the staff are awesome. I always choose to support local coffee shops because it's important. With that being said, it would appear this is not a safe space for out beloved queer community anymore. When I first began coming here, I noticed a Safe Space rainbow sticker on the window, which always brings me joy. As an ally I like to see the business I patron believing in equal rights, equality, and the beautiful energy of LOVE. As you entered there was also a pride flag. With the new owner all these things have shockingly and without merit, been removed. Not a good or safe feeling. Especially since she has queer staff working for her. I hope her staff still feel safe at work.If I noticed these inclusive markers were gone, they definitely did too. Just not a good vibe. I wont be coming here as much anymore. No one likes to feel like they don't belong.

I absolutely love this cafe!! The people here are always so kind and friendly and it just couldn't be more picturesque. The coffee and food is excellent. I recently moved off Island but will keep coming back as often as I can. I love touring the garden outside next to their outdoor seating area.

Our favorite coffee shop on Bainbridge and such a cute little place! The cafe has a great outdoor covered seating area to sit and enjoy the surrounding Bay Hay Nursery. Try the Cafe Miel, you won’t be disappointed!
