The vets are knowledgeable and kind. They always listen to my concerns and want to hear myself observations of how my pet is doing. I trust and respect them a great deal. Also, every assistant I have met seems to be someone well tunned in to animals. Wonderful veterinarian practice!

They have been great stewards of our animals' health over the past 12 years. All of the doctors, vet techs, and office staff love of animals show with every interaction.

WAC is the best place for pets. My tiny 13 year old cat had dental surgery where she needed 14 teeth removed and they took such great care of both of us. I am eternally grateful for how considerate and efficient they were. She was done in under a hour so they could minimise the risk of her being under at such an advanced age and they communicated with me so much throughout the whole process and I appreciate them so much. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment. It's worth, I promise!

Misleading outgoing phone message says:1.) "...we will call you back..." (they do not)2.) "...if you have an emergency and can't get through to us, come to the clinic..." (ONLY IF YOU ARE AN ESTABLISHED CLIENT)We traveled 90-minutes on a snow day.CHANGE YOUR OUTGOING MESSAGE!Note: If you must contact this clinic text their main #.The stress this unnecessary travel created for our pet is cruel. We were clients @ this clinic several years ago.Never again.First impression: I was being texted by an inexperienced young person with limited professional communication skills. It felt like I was "chatting" with a gamer, but this was not a game. The nameless receptionist seems proud of their ghosting skills. He/she texted me they had heard my 3 phone messages and remarked that he/she had disregarded our phone requests because they had decided we were looking for a cheaper vet.NO. I clearly stated we were looking for a second opinion of our animal's prognosis.BTW Money is not an issue with us, but professionalism and kindness is.If this level of professionalism is allowed @ reception...what is happening behind closed doors? How is any of this OK with ownership? They need to get a mature professional reception lead to trim all the drama caused by texting, avoiding, gaming. I hope this helps others not wait 2 days for a response.

I took my cat in with an emergency situation in the afternoon where I told the intake tech that she was off balance & could barely walk or stand without falling over, that she was listless, and having a hard time breathing. When I arrived to pick her up at 5:30, after never receiving the 5p call I was told I would get, it was almost like they forgot she was there. About 15 min later they told me her glucose was low but they gave her food (well managed diabetic) When I asked if it was normal then, because I assumed she had been treated earlier since this in itself is an emergency for a diabetic cat, they told me that they had just given her some food she was eating & she should get better, and scheduled an appointment with my regular vet the next day to discuss a different insulin dose. They also said they thought she had the beginning of one of her chronic colds, gave her an antibiotic shot, and sent us home as if it was not an emergency situation. This was at 6p, I felt like they forgot about her & it was time to close up.She was still so off balance that she could barely stand up. My cat's breathing was not better. It got worse, and she died struggling to breathe. I love my regular vet, but it was her day off, and now I am really struggling with if I can trust the other vet's with the care of my other kitty. All in all, I think the staff at WAC are very caring and want the best for your pet, and they have all been so lovely and helpful. Up to this point, I have had great care for my cats. I do however question if they are the best in an emergency situation, especially so if you have a special needs pet and your regular vet is not working that day. I also think that because they are so busy with an abundance of patients, that pets may not get the attention and monitoring they need in emergency situations that are not glaringly obvious. Maybe they do, but this situation doesn't feel like it. That may be my grief. But the intake notes on the discharge papers indicated I brought my cat in for being lethargic & sneezing. while I mentioned sneezing, I was clear on her loss of balance, listlessness & trouble breathing to the tech that came outside to collect her. I have no idea if that was clearly communicated to whichever vet my pet saw that day. I even left a VM right before bringing her in saying the same as well as "something is really wrong with her".I strongly feel that they need to go back to allowing pet owners into the exam room to speak directly to the vet - this isn't the first time the intake notes have been incorrect, but this time my cat died, and I can't help but wonder if more could have been done and if my cat got the attention needed, and if perhaps things would have been different if I could have spoken with a vet directly when I brought her in to convey exactly how much my cat was struggling. Maybe not, but the feelngs I am left with make it hard for me not to question the current policy or if she got the proper medical attention that could have saved her life in an emergency situation. While I don't think it was intentional, this has left me feeling that she did not received adequate medical care. Not being able to speak to a vet directly upon bringing her in for an emergency situation to convey the seriousness if her symptoms in order to advocate for her health, and potentually ensure she received proper medical care, is a huge issue that needs to be addressed in their current intake policy to ensure this does not happen to another family. The outcome may have been the same, but now I will always wonder if my kitty suffered more than she should have.

The staff is wonderful and the price was amazing!! They neutered my rabbit shaved him and gave him a check up with take home meds for the same price as other vets were charging just to do the neuter. They got us in very quickly due to the state of my newly adopted rabbit and they were so sweet and understanding.Would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a new vet clinic.

Rude and over priced. I was a client for 10 years until a change in ownership. Now they don’t answer your calls, expect you to wait up to an hour to be seen for your appointment, and the prices are at least twice as high as the other island vet.

We just had our first appointment with WAC and cannot speak more highly of the service we received. Trish was absolutely incredible, I can’t sing her praises loud enough. She was warm, personable, and treated our cats as her own. Dr. McGee was clear, helpful, and kind in explaining everything we needed to know. A stressful experience which turned into a really reassuring and hopeful experience. Thank you, Winslow Animal Clinic!

This used to be a great veterinarian clinic. However, now not so much. They make you wait in your car, and a vet tech comes out and takes your pet in. You are not allowed to be there during the exam so there is a huge disconnect between you and the vet. I don't know what vet my dog has been examined by for the past 2 years. They never try to squeeze in same day visits they make you drop off your pet to stay there in a kennel ALL day until a vet can see them. They also never answer the phone. I'm done with this place I found a new veterinarian that is wonderful!!

They were so fast and responsive and got me in immediately and the vet took a lot of time listening to me and asking questions and in explaining the situation to me and what I needed to do to cure my rabbit. I could tell she really cares about each pet she sees.

Vets are great but intake staff are inconsiderate and rude, no one answers the phone, and they overbook their schedule. I was asked to wait in the parking lot for 45 minutes when I arrived at my scheduled time. I have been there for years but have now taken my business elsewhere. This clinic recently came under new ownership and they have yet to get their act together.

Winslow has seen several of my foster kitties and they have been wonderful. We appreciate them so much! This team donates one Saturday a month to the rescue I work with, providing free vetting and it makes such a difference. They are always super thorough and our cats are well taken care of! We can’t thank them enough!

I am so disappointed in the management of this clinic. They require you to park and check in via text, which is fine unless there is no parking. Which is what happened today. The parking lot was full when I arrived. There were spots, but people were standing in them with their dogs talking to staff. By the time I was able to park and self check in the clock read 7 minutes late. After waiting over two months for my dogs appointment they turned me away with zero regard for the reasonable explanation. What's even more upsetting is that there have been times where I have waited over 30 minutes to be seen and yet they won't even grant a client a 5 minute grace period. I think the truth is that they over booked to see as many $$$ as possible in one day or they wanted to clear everyone out before lunch. Either way, I was treated with such disregard that when she asked if I'd like to reschedule a month from now I had to decline. I won't give them another cent, and you shouldn't either.

Dr. Lisa Barfield is an island treasure. I have a dog who is petrified to come to the vet, and has to be muzzled, and she never makes me feel like our needs can't be met. She's simply wonderful.
