Both my son and I requested visits with dogs shown on second chance companions website. The applications were submitted almost 2 months ago and we just received a message from the owner of one of the dogs. The pet owner messaged " I hope I didn't wait too long ".This is consistent with the experience many other prospective people waiting to adopt dogs.SECOND CHANCE COMPANIONS SHOULD TAKE DOWN THE LISTING FOR PETS IF THE CURRENT PET PERSON DOES NOT RESPOND AFTER 4 WEEKS. We already adopted a different dog after 8 weeks. We wanted to adopt a rescue or foster pet but had to go the breeder route. Money was not a problem for us.A non profit very poorly run!

The person that approved the adoption application was very helpful. Unfortunately the owners / fosters of the pets have been absolutely unresponsive. If the people fostering the pets aren't willing to respond to applications I don't see why their ads are still up.

My animal was taken from a motel in hazeldell washington. Quality inn and suites. I know for fact their hotel staff took him and have him to second chance where they changed his chio altered papers and continuesly call police on me while keeping him from me. His name was Harley a nuetered 4 year old male . Hes now five and a half and is still missing. Harley was my friend and the only thing ive raised since a baby. They're aware of there situation and i believe he may have been put down to protect there. Name. Harley is deeply missed and if anyone else can come forward with information there is a reward for his return or atleast closure to his where a outs. These people should not be allowed to get away with handling pets like this

Aug 19th 2023 I adopted this beautiful girl Eve (Charlotte). She once wondered the streets with her brother but was rescued and foster by these wonderful people. I am forever thankful and plan on going through them again when we decide to adopt another

The adoption process is not good. Many pets listed on their website but they can only process applications. The pets are still with the owners and the owners don't respond and allow people to meet the pets. The person taking the applications is good at responding but has no power to make visits takes place. In the meantime the pets stay on their website as adoptable for weeks even though the people with the pets don't respond. If the pet owners don't respond they should be taken off the website.

We were very interested in a sweet little puppy and filled out all of the necessary paperwork to adopt. I received a quick response from Val. She had a concern about us having one male granddog that is unaltered, as the little female puppy has not been spayed. She was so kind and this group is only in it for the best possible care for the pets they care for.

My partner and I adopted one of our cats from this rescue and it was a very positive experience. The woman that we talked to about adopting was very friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive. I appreciate the rescue taking time to ask us for references before adopting our cat as well as making sure her living situation would be suitable. The cat we adopted has been such a great addition to our family and I’m so glad we were able to support this local rescue.

Their website had good information. I was disappointed and frustrated, though. They posted that they couldn't help people with stray cats and deferred me elsewhere. :(

If I could give them zero stars I would. I’m so disappointed at the behavior of their employee and how they think it’s acceptable for an employee to mistreat children and make them cry.

We have two cats from them and my wife ended up volunteering for a bit. Such dedicated and kind folks who volunteer their time because they have a true passion for these little critters. The process to adopt was easy and they communicated non-stop with us. Our situation required us to wait a month so they could be fixed. Our agent Ivana sent pictures regularly and kept us informed about after care and medications too. Such a great group to adopt from!
