Today I came in to take care of a problem with my credit card and I was helped by Sunny King. She went above and beyond my expectations in solving my issue and was very friendly and professional, 11/10 experience! Thank you Sunny :)

This positing is about the Visa I received and not the branch. I will have to go into the Bellevue banch and ask the guy who helped me before with the Debit card to figure this out. The BECU form I recieved with the new Visa has a different card number on the form as that on the Visa card. It took the ee a lot of time to clean up the Debit card. Now the same thing with the Visa. The # on the form doesn't even come close to the # on the card. BECU corporate, get your act together or you farming this stuff out to people who doen't speak or understand english. This is no way to run a financial institution.

I've been banking with a big national bank because my mortgage was with them. Now that my mortgage has been paid off and this national bank has been the news recently for scandals, illegal practices and huge fines by the CFPB, I wanted to switch to a local credit union. I made an appointment to open a checking account and BECU denied me. Three stars because the person who was helping me was nice and he also could not believe I was denied due to my exceptional credit score, so he called corporate. Turns out I was denied because I've opened a bunch of CDs at different banks in the past 6 months. CD interest rates are high right now, especially online, and I'm careful to keep the balance at maturity date at each bank less than the FDIC insurance limit. Given all the banks that have had to be bailed out or sold due to failure lately, I think I'm right to limit my deposits at any one bank. But for some reason, BECU considers this a red flag? I do most of my banking (high yield savings/CDs) with online banks, but I like to have my checking account with a bank with local branches. Now I guess I'm stuck at my scandal-filled national bank, since BECU thinks I'm the one who is shady. I took two stars off for this weird red flag policy.

Went in to get a few rolls of quarters for the laundrymat. Signed in via the electronic kiosk. Saw a total of seven empty desks including the two greeter desks. Stood in front of an empty greeter desk for five minutes before a staffer decided to acknowledge my presence and told me to sit down in waiting area. Keep in mind there were four customers in the branch including those using an ATM. Waited 10 more minutes. Young male banker finally called my name. I explained I needed change. Was told, "We don't keep cash here or at most BECU locations." Pulled out a sheet of paper and told me I could drive north to Everett or South to Tukwilla in rush hour traffic to get change. I asked where I could get change closer than 50 odd miles away. He told me I could go to a completely different credit union located in an area grocery store and "maybe" they could help me. I noted I am not a member of that credit union. Oh they are an affiliate of ours and actually have a teller line. I noted it was absurd for me to have to drive to Everett just to get quarters to do laundry. I noted I have a house closing next week and perhaps I should put the proceeds elsewhere. Clearly the young man didn't believe me and walked away without another word. So just asking, how much do I have to he worth to be treated with basic courtesy and granted minor banking services without a 15 minute wait to be blown off and given a 100 mile round trip run around? Sorry I don't look the part of a high roller, but next week I will move more money out of BECU than that disdainful young banker makes in two years. Try basic courtesy next time BECU.Made my way to the other credit union. They did give me change, but limited it to $20 in quarters. At $3.50 per load, that won't last long. Thanks for wasting a major chunk of my afternoon just so I can do laundry while I am in town taking care of a dying parent. Being treated with contempt and disdain was not what I needed to make this challenging time more bearable. Be kind. You honestly never know who you are dealing with. If kindness is beyond you, opt for professionalism.

Extremely good service! The people are very kind and made me feel comfortable and satisfied after I finished what I needed to. Not really any fees once you start either.

I was extremely disappointed by BECU’s notary service. My husband is a loyal member and has been banking with BECU for more than 20 years. We needed a notary service and went to BECU Bellevue branch with an appointment . After 20 minutes wait, we were told by the branch manager Erin that notary service could not be provided to us because I was not a member. The policy is that you have to have an account more than 6 MO in order to be eligible for notary services. This policy doesn’t make sense and hurts members’ value in many situations. For example, one of the most frequent events that require notary is Will change. It creates so much frictions and the notary benefits are essentially useless. I hope your company can consider these scenarios and extend the notary service to family members of members. At this point, it is unlikely for me to bank with BECU or recommend it to my family and friends because of the lack of customer obsession

Helpful and friendly! Did what I needed right away and provided me with information. They made sure I had all my questions answered, and I was back out the door and on my way to the next errands.I dropped in without an appointment, but I must have gone during slow hours because they could accomodate me quickly and the small room where the atms are wasn't crowded. There is sanitizer and plexiglass for protection.

Thankfully we were still able to buy our dream home DESPITE the Horrible way we were treated by BECU. The mortgage "professional" did not make good on any of her commitments, did not follow through on her action items, did not adjust her performance once I voiced my concerns, broke promises to call back, did not follow up and finally just stopped replying altogether. She decided we were not worth her time and she just quit working with us. This is the SECOND time that BECU has dropped the ball in the customer service department. How they remain on the top of the list for financial institutions, when they treat their customers so poorly is beyond me. OR maybe you have to have a certain amount in the bank in order for them to decide to give you their time...not sure. Whatever it is...you all can keep putting up with the disrespect, mistreatment and outright DISCRIMINATION (based on finances). I will find a more respectable bank.

Firstly I would like to say the gentleman that greeted us was very friendly which is why I am giving the whole experience 2 stars instead of one. It is very important for people going to BECU for a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) to understand their process, as it is overall terrible. First how they value your home is only by a computer generated system which is a terrible way to get value of a property. I deal with giving clients values every day and a computer generated system is in no way accurate. This system does not take into account any upgrades or condition of the home. It only takes into account estimated market appreciation which may be fine for you, but will be lower than actual value 100% of the time. They even stated after the fact that it is very conservative which is not helpful. For instance we bought a home and put in over $100,000 in a remodel as the home was in rough shape when we bought it. The computer states it is only worth about 100k more than we paid for it which is actually 100k less than other computer generated estimates. Second what you don't know going into the credit union is the people that work there are more like order takers and have little to no experience with heloc loans. It is no fault to them and they do the best they can, but if I am dealing with my credit being pulled and applying for a loan I would like the person I am working with to be an expert in that area not someone that also helps people open checking and savings accounts and transfer funds, etc. I want them to know the ins and outs of the process and be a subject matter expert to help guide me as one would expect. This is just how BECU does their process. Third and probably most frustrating is even if you rightfully disagree with the value this computer program just spits out you can not get a true appraisal done by a real person who is a licensed appraiser. They state that whatever the computer says that is what they go with unless the square footage is wrong from what county records states. These computer generated systems are very inaccurate at giving true value of a home. You need a human eye and research to get accurate information. Computers can not see the overall condition of the home, community/neighborhood look and feel, current market conditions (they are always months behind what is actually going on.

Terrible experience. I went into the branch to do a wire transfer to pay off my house today. I was very excited. The greeter put me in line for the domestic wire transfer and then I waited. Close to 30 minutes later, I was still waiting even though I noticed two other parties go ahead of me. I was eventually told that they had mistakenly deleted by appointment, but the next representative would be right with me. How do you delete someone's appointment when they are sitting right there?? The representative who eventually helped me was obviously still new at the job and didn't project any kind of confidence in the wire transfer process at all. Furthermore, his attitude was terrible. He told me it would be essentially my fault if the money was transferred to the incorrect location. Seriously?? This is what you train your representatives to say. I, finally, had to demand the branch manager involvement cause the process was taking so long and I'm still not sure everything was done correctly. Altogether, the simple wire transfer took over an hour, I was late to another appointment and they wanted to charge me $25. The branch manager tried to apologize and offered to waive the $25 fee, but it was obvious she really didn't care at all. Her apology to me include one of my least favorite statements... "I wish I could turn back time, but, unfortunately, I can not." Please train your managers to save these ridiculous justifications for high school students. Nobody wants to hear about "time travel" when they are upset. Not going back to this branch and seriously considering closing my account. Joyous occasion completely ruined by incompetence. Horrific.

My visits to this branch had been pretty good until today. This one employee either provided me wrong information or simply told me she did not know the answers. If you don't know the answers to my questions, you can ask your coworkers. Going to this BECU branch today was not a good experience. It makes me wondered if BECU provides enough trainings for their employees.

I stopped by this BEC you... Because it was on the way home. I really really like this location because of how big it is and it look like they had maybe 10 different people working there so there was literally no line... All the other locations seem a bit smaller and I went in multiple times and had to wait 30 minutes or so to speak with someone so I really like this location for how fast they are. While I was being helped they were very courteous and offered me water and they have a awesome cure red coffee machine with Tullys Coffee. I have heard many great things about BECU so it only took me about 30 minutes or so to apply and update all my accounts and do a loan their process is very simple very easy mostly electronic and very hassle free... Their online banking is very convenient easy to use.
