The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. We bought an express maker that was on display, but found out it was out of stock. We were told it would be available later that week. Waited a week. No update, we went in and called only to find out that they would email when it’s ready. Another week went by and then an email came saying it would be another month before the item would be shipped (not to us but to the store- because they don’t even offer free shipping for $180+ item???) … I called to cancel the item, the operator put me on a “brief” hold that was 15 minutes long- finally the call rang and an automated message played that said no one is available to take my call and then hung up so I couldn’t leave a voicemail. If I’d known the customer service was this bad for that high of a price point I would have never shopped there to begin with. Sticking with Nordstrom from now on

We bought a down filled Oceanside couch from Crate and Barrel and have regretted it since day one. From the moment it arrived it has been leaking feathers through the fabric, which constantly pokes us while we use the couch. We gave it time to break in thinking it might settle, but it is still just as bad as it was on day one.
When we reached out we were told that because it had been over 30 days (we reached out on day 35 after receiving the couch) and was a custom color there was nothing they could do. That is apparently their standard return policy, which didn’t feel right at all to me since this was more of a warranty/quality issue than a return. The sales rep initially seemed determined to find a remedy and mentioned possibly ordering new cushion covers to contain the feathers, but then completely stopped responding.
Months later we still hate this couch. It looks fine, but it is uncomfortable, messy, and constantly pokes us. For the price we expected far better quality and customer support. Would not recommend C&B at all. We were shocked to receive such little support from a company this big with furniture this expensive.

Rude and unprofessional employees as noted in some of the previous reviews, I walked in to look at kids furniture and walked out - a male employee who approached offered no help, no welcome, no hi, stared at me and my child and noted my child doesn’t touch anything. Are you kidding me?! Crate and Barrel please do better and train your employees, customer service is everything!

I generally hate shopping - actually, I hate crowded shopping centers. I was instantly regretting going to Crate and Barrel about a half mile from the store as traffic began to pick up. After navigating the crowded garages and mall, I got to the store, which was rather busy.
But complaining about humanity isn't why I am here (today). I actually want to compliment one of the store associates - Vera P. Vera just provided the great, friendly customer service that I so often miss in a digital world. She was very kind and very conscientious and just wanted to ensure that my purchases were packed appropriate for transport.
Vera is a wonderful person and my day was a bit brighter since Vera was in it. I hope we can all find our inner Vera today and be kind to someone else. It means so much in our transactional world.

Today I had the worst experience with a female store manager in Bellevue. I purchased everyday Hudson plates on May 18, 2025. I specifically asked about avoiding utensil scratch marks on every day plates. The sales associate told me not to purchase matte plates, but plates with a glaze which I did to avoid this problem. Well two weeks later scratch marks started appearing on the glazed stoneware. I was dissatisfied and wanted to exchange the plates. When I arrived - the store manager told me they have a 30 day return policy and cannot exchange for a used product. She went further and told me it was my responsibility to read the care of the dishes before purchasing. Well isn’t that what your sales associates are for to inform the consumer - which I did inquire. She told me that I can use barkeeper soap to hand wash the dishes and wash them on the top rack of my dishwasher. I don’t know too many dishwashers that can hold dinner plates on the top rack.
So I left frustrated and called Crate and barrel at U Village. The assistant manager, Taylor was shocked by my experience and told me to come on over and they will take care of me. They pride themselves on customer service. Well they sure got a new customer from the eastside today. Bellevue needs more Taylor’s that listen to the customer. I highly encourage eastside residents to drive to U Village for your needs. It’s a larger store, better lay out and free parking. Plus the employees put the customer first. Thank You Taylor!

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the customer service(Emma)on today regarding my order( my total purchase was more 9000$ and I just want to return or exchange my 30$ bowl that I purchased at the same order. Emma was not polite and Emma informed me wrong about whole process. First she told me bowls received on February 19 we told her it was the order date they cannot receive at the same day, then she told me bowl received 31 days ago and they cannot accept because of 30 days policy… I did not convince about it later she told me they do not have price sticker on them. I am not sure they have even have price sticker when they have arrived. Basically she was focusing on not helping focusing on creating excuses for not accepting bowl. I told her I did not use them multiple times to her.. and they are brand new not damage at all

I was helped by John Owens, who was an incredibly helpful designer. John walked me through options I would not have even considered. I am planning to purchase a few of the option he helped me find. So grateful John really took the time to understand what I wanted in a chair and a small sofa. Amazing person to have on the team there. Thanks John!

In the process of ordering few items for our new home but it has been a furstrating experience so far which keeps getting worse and worse. No question about the collection itself but their pickup/delivery system is clearly broken, the app/website doesn't show correct status of what's picked up or not. Items are not ready or misplaced when you go to pick those up, no accountability, irate tones from the supervising staff when confronted. One of them offered us free delivery to compensate but instead I still had to go and pick up the newly back ordered items. The process isn't that complicated, not sure why they struggle so much. If you are willing to wait for months, call them multiple items, engage with associates over email again and again, then go ahead but otherwise give a serious thought about Crate and Barrrel, parituclarly this store.

I’ve shopped at Crate & Barrel for years, but this Bellevue location is beyond terrible. EVERY time I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with the first-floor cashiers, I’m met with a level of unenthusiastic, borderline hostile energy that is shocking for a retail store. No greeting, no courtesy—just dead stares and a tone dripping with annoyance, as if my mere presence is ruining their day. The moment I bring up a return, I don’t get a simple “Hi. How can I help you?” Instead, I’m hit with an exasperated “What’s wrong with these?” in a tone that screams, Why are you bothering me?
And it’s not just one bad encounter—it’s every single visit. These employees don’t just lack customer service skills; they behave like they actively despise customers. The team leads are no better. After choosing Crate & Barrel for a wedding registry, you’d think there would be some level of appreciation. Instead, they show a complete disregard for customer loyalty and seem entirely uninterested in keeping business.
Simple returns drag on for 30-60 minutes or more while the staff moves at a snail’s pace, explicitly uninterested in helping you, making it clear they have no intention of helping efficiently. The lack of urgency, the cold dismissiveness—this location is a masterclass in how **not** to treat customers.
Save yourself the frustration and shop online or go somewhere else. This store is an absolute disgrace to the Crate & Barrel name.
