We sold our house in Seattle with Kari in mid-2024. Our property was somewhat unique in that it it was a smaller, 800 square foot house on a large, steep slope. When we bought it, it was clearly a flip, with generic finishes and grass filling the entire yard.
Luckily, my partner is an artist and is handy and she was able to transform the house, adding clever built-ins to maximize the use of space, using thoughtful Farrow & Ball paint colors to add interest, and transforming the entire yard into a lush landscape with over 100 different native plants.
We interviewed a few different realtors and ultimately went with Kari because (1) she seemed like she understood the unique charm of the house (she complimented the choice of paint colors and the built-ins when we first met) and (2) she seemed like she would be upfront, honest, and communicative.
We were moving across the country and Kari told us that we needed to be completely moved out by May 23rd to be able to list on June 4th. As she explained, pushing past that date could compromise the ability to sell the house. We worked hard to get everything packed up on time and Kari was reassuring to us throughout the process, sending us a DoorDash gift card and telling us not to worry about the house and just focus on our move. We were stressed, but we felt supported.
Unfortunately, as soon as we left the house and started driving across the country, things started to change:
First, it became clear that Kari didn't actually have any appreciation for the charm of the house and, instead, hired a series of contractors to slowly transform the house back into a standard flip: they pulled out the custom built-ins without our approval, painted over all the walls with a stock beige color and all the natural wood with white, tore out many of the native plants and covered the yard with a blanket layer of mulch, and so on.
Second, as we got closer to the promised June 4th deadline with still a significant amount of work left, we got no communication if we would still be listing or not. Eventually, we had to simply text her and ask, at which point she finally replied no, we wouldn't, with no explanation or apology. This became a theme throughout our relationship with very little communication from Kari on the progress of the house. Eventually, I just got into a routine of texting Kari and Darren every morning with a list of questions, since I was unlikely to get updates otherwise.
Third, given the combination of (1) the uniqueness of our house and (2) the fact that Kari and her team decided to try and revert it into a generic flip, it was obviously a discordant and confusing sell for buyers: they saw the listing (which prominently displayed the mostly untouched artful exterior) and expected one thing and then entered the house and saw something completely different. As soon as Kari and her team realized it was not going to be a straightforward sale, she seemed to go into panic mode: pushing us to accept a deal from an unresponsive and uncommitted buyer who revoked their offer the very next day, guilting us to try and get our mini-split with no issues serviced, and recommending that we invest an additional $25k in repairing a structural wood beam for possible signs of damage. When we finally did get a buyer it was like pulling teeth to get Kari to negotiate out of fear it would fall through: luckily we stuck to our guns and sold the house without unnecessarily fixing that wood beam or paying for closing costs (!).
Overall, looking at all of the positive reviews, my assumption is that Kari and her team might be a good fit for a standard condo or flip, especially in the post-Covid boom. But I would not recommend her or her team for any properties outside that scope.

In My experience Kari was extremely rude for someone I barley met a couple of times off a whim. I'm a sole proprietor and agreed to do some work for a house they were flipping. I was never reimbursed for several thousand dollars of materials.I guess Darren thought it would be okay to rewrite the amount he owed he and thought I wouldn't notice. ( Or I just wouldn't say anything)More than one occasion I was led into her house with Kari screaming and pointing fingers at me saying the amount of money she owed me was incorrect and the materials were too expensive.I was shown Darren's laptop which showed his figure and my original figure. Him and his gang of realtors where hovering over me when I was explaining to him there was a difference in the figure. Basically it was either take figure they have at the time or they weren't writing anymore checks.

My wife and I have purchased two homes with Kari Haas as our agent. Recently we started our own business and purchased a townhome as an investment property in Seattle. Kari, Darren, and team were extremely helpful in taking the time to show us homes and enabled us to consider all of the best options around the area. We are impressed by Kari’s abilities beyond getting our offer accepted. We appreciate her ability to communicate between parties and providing us information that we needed to make an informed decision. We were interested in a property for sale that the offer review was in a few days. Called 3x and left messages that we wanted to put in offer on the property. Never heard back. Also, noticed there wasn't a For Sale sign on the property. Of course the property is now pending.

Kari is amazing, she helped us buy and sell our house with ease. As transplants to WA and first time homebuyers, we weren't familiar with the area, and it was nice to feel taken care of with Kari's personal touch. On the way to sign the papers for our house, my car broke down on the freeway. Kari picked my brother & I up and took us to the signing herself. Our house sold within a few weeks on the market and it was an easy & quick process. Kari showed me some apartments for my move that she doesn't even make a commission off of. Her negotiation skills & knowledge of the area are top notch. Kari & team are highly recommended.

Thanks to Kari, we recently moved into an amazing home that's just perfect for us.We were introduced to her about a year ago, when we were starting our search. My partner and I were moving to Seattle to be close to her family, but neither of us were very familiar with the city.
