I was excited to try a free intro class at Pure Barre with a friend, but unfortunately, our experience was really disappointing. We drove 40 minutes to get there, arrived early, filled out all the forms, and even had a friendly 20-minute conversation with the instructor.
Just two minutes before class started, we were told we couldn't participate because we're out-of-state students. This policy wasn't mentioned anywhere on the website when we signed up. The instructor was aware we had driven quite a distance to be there, but we were still asked to leave right before the class began.
The studio itself seemed clean and welcoming, and the instructor was kind up until that point--but the lack of transparency and consideration left a bad impression. I hope they make this policy clearer online, so others don't have to go through a similar situation.

I’ve been attending Pure Barre classes since 2017 across both California and Washington, having visited more than five different studios. The workout itself is incredible—small, precise movements that are surprisingly effective and consistently challenging.
Prior to the pandemic, the Bellevue studio had a different management team and fostered a welcoming, respectful, and professional environment. I truly hope it can return to that positive culture.
A note to Katie, the current owner of several Pure Barre studios in the area: it may be helpful to visit other local fitness studios like Barre3, Club Pilates, or Orange Theory to see firsthand how compassion, inclusivity, and flexibility create stronger community engagement. Policies like denying entry for being a couple minutes late or prohibiting the use of a mat—despite a valid medical reason and years of precedent—feel unnecessarily rigid and lack empathy. Framing every new restriction as a “safety concern” misses the point. A little compassion can go a long way, especially for loyal clients who have supported your business for years.

Bellevue Pure Barre is amazing! The workouts are super challenging and the friendly atmosphere and lively music make it so fun! They have a great promo that finally got me to try a class, something I’ve wanted to do for years. It’s an incredible workout—I feel stronger, leaner, and love how firm my core and legs are getting. The instructors are awesome and push you to work hard while keeping it enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I joined Pure Barre Bellevue in the fall of 2020! Best decision I ever made mid pandemic! The owners, teachers, front desk staff and community are all so amazing, encouraging and inspiring. The best full body workout I have found. It’s not your average barre studio! If you are on the fence, get your booty in there! ILYSM PB Bellevue! ❤️

Horrible experience: late for 1 min and do not allow enter. Marked as no show on ClassPass and has to contact ClassPass to wave the penalty fee.Parking and studio location is super confusing. It takes me 10mins to figure out parking and find the place.Other studios would enhance the new user experience by either offering a latter class or sharing video recording if enter is denied due to lateness exceeding several mins. Definitely they will NOT mark you as NO SHOW.

Most terrible service I’ve ever had. They asked you to purchased a pair of socks for $20 in front desk, without telling you when making reservation.

Took an introductory class, which was challenging and fun. However, the classes and membership prices are steep, which makes it sort of inaccessible to do regularly. Definitely recommend taking advantage of a sale or deal when they have them because it was a great workout. It was low impact (great for my joints) but definitely (gently) pushed me with controlled muscle movements and flexibility. The staff all seems really lovely too.

This place is an absolute money grab and I would not recommend it to a soul. I have had 2 horrible experiences with them. First, I took their first “free class”. They give you a disclaimer to bring your own grippy socks, so DONT FORGET THEM or they make you purchase $19 socks if you do not have your own grippy socks for the class. Like $20 for socks… really? Me alongside 4 other new people had to pay $20 for socks- the only reason I tried the class was because it was supposed to be free. Well - I decided I would come again once more now that I in fact had purchased the $20 socks. I was late 2 minutes to class due to the receptionist giving me the wrong floor number to where class was located (I had forgotten as had been months since I had first come), and the door was locked so I could not even attend. There is no disclaimer that they do not take anyone within 5 mins of class starting. Great way to keep peoples money without having to do anything. Worst place and absolutely not worth the prices they have for their memberships, should be laughable.

We came all the way from seattle, I called to notify of potential delay due to parking and traffic, we were 2 mins late and were not allowed in class. While I understand it’s the policy, it was still very unpleasant experience.

I have been going to Pure Barre for over thirteen years. It is always challenging and every class is different. They offer five different classes: Classic, Empower, Reform, Align and Define. The last two are the most recent options. Not only are the various class options all challenging in their own way, they all offer incredible results. I recommend trying all the classes and you will definitely find your favorite, but all of them are amazing. The instructor will provide modifications if you let them know about any injuries you have. They take the time to learn and say your name as they encourage and push you throughout the 55 minute workout. Try it out, once you get into it and start taking class regularly, you will see your body change every class. The workouts sculpt and form your muscles, you will be amazed at the results!
