The Washington Karate Association is a highly regarded martial arts school that offers a safe, clean, and spacious environment for students of all ages. The facility is well-maintained, and the staff, including Sensei Arai and other Senseis and Sempais, are dedicated, professional, and caring. The school provides multiple class times in the afternoon, early evening, late evening, and weekends, making it convenient for working parents and stay-at-home moms to participate. Many students and parents have seen positive effects from attending classes. Children have become more fit, resilient, and focused, which has improved their school performance. The training also helps build discipline and life skills. Some students, who started as troubled kids, credit karate for changing their lives, helping them develop confidence, discipline, and unique fighting styles. Adults of all ages, including seniors, enjoy the classes, and some report health benefits such as relief from chronic pain and increased flexibility, especially during long winters. The school also offers an after-school pickup program that combines martial arts training with art and crafts, providing a fun and enriching environment for kids. The atmosphere is non-intimidating and supportive, fostering confidence and self-defense skills in a friendly setting. Many former students have fond memories of their time at WKA, considering it a second family, and appreciate the life lessons learned from the Senseis. Overall, Washington Karate Association is recognized for building resilient, disciplined, and athletic individuals, making it a top choice for families seeking martial arts training.
I was in WKA from age 8 to 18 and it's the single best extracurricular activity my parents put me in. They do an excellent job building resilient, disciplined, athletic individuals. I felt like the WKA was a second family to me. Send your kid here if you live in the area and want to try Karate!
