Fantastic title/escrow company. I am a local mortgage lender (my office is next door) and I’ve worked with many title and escrow offices out of area. We are very fortunate to have a company like Chicago title here locally in Bellingham.

While the individual agent was communicative and helfpul (thank you Leah) the company's policies when one of the real estate agents ended up being a bad actor in the transcation did not help the sitaution. They cared more about the business entities involved who bring them business than over consumer protections for individuals/familes. Be careful when considering their services and beware bad real estate agents and the companies that shield them.

Couldn't schedule more than 2 days ahead of time, even though we were fully ready and had all disclosures a week and a half before. The guy that helped us was casual, which I like normally, but he didn't even know the docs well enough to answer a few questions we had.Then they thought they gave us the originals that needed to be recorded at the courthouse... Then they thought we had someone else's docs... All the whole we were driving and couldn't pull over to check before arriving to work again. They asked us to meet them somewhere in the middle instead of coming to us when it wasn't our mistake.Thankfully the mix up was solved, 20 mins later, and we had the correct documents. It should have been verified before we left the building, or at least before we were called and given wrong information.Much preferred all our experiences at Whatcom Land Title in the past.

2nd and last time having any dealing with this awful company. Wouldn't follow the contract and now I have to pay to get my escrow money back. The previous time they signed off on a loan even though I owned half the house. "Title" is in their name and they can't even get that part right. Whatcom Land Title has been flawless each time I've used them and priced better too. Steer clear!

Prompt service when we arrived. No waiting. Appointment was kept. We quickly reviewed and processed documents so we could all move on with our day. Afterward promises were kept to record and close the purchase of our home. Very happy.
