“After seeing a television Ad for this hotel I decided to book a surprise overnight for my wife and I. I booked directly through the hotel website and the bayside view room rate was quite reasonable due to our flexible schedule. We spent several hours exploring Bellingham prior to arriving at the hotel for a delicious lunch in their bar area. The view of the bay and marina from our restaurant table and subsequently our second floor room were amazing! Following lunch my wife enjoyed a one hour float session at Still Life Massage across the street from the hotel. She highly recommends! The room was beautifully appointed with a fireplace, soaking tub and balcony for enjoying the spectacular water views and a stunning sunset. While there are several excellent restaurants to choose from within walking distance of the hotel, the clam chowder at the hotel restaurant was so delicious we decided to have a second light meal without leaving the hotel. We travel with our service dog and there are ample paved walkways steps from the hotel, as well as a beautiful waterfront park area just across from the marina. For a quiet, restful getaway the Hotel Bellwether is a PNW gem.”

“Very family friendly hotel. The swimming pool is shallow (4 feet at the deepest end), perfect for young children. Lots of shops nearby for entertainment and food. Close to alot of tourist activities within Bellingham.”

“Great experience, cleaner than many Hilton Hotels and other big name establishments. Newly renovated with new carpet, freshly painted rooms. Great breakfast for being continental and no cost.”

“This place is dated yet nostalgic historically. Is located downtown Bellingham close to everything you need. Did not stay in the rooms but the lower level shows room for improvement and upgrades.Walkability: Great downtown site.Food & drinks: Good apps and drinks.”

“This place is a gem. Despite a problem with the fire alarm, our experience was lovely. The staff could not have been more accommodating, our large, comfortable room had a fireplace, deck and view of the harbor. We would definitely return.

Rooms: Large, cozy, fireplace, deck, view, large bathroom, walk-in shower

Nearby activities: Right at the start of the gorgeous waterfront trail that's a 45 minute walk to downtown.

Walkability: In the heart of Fairhaven

Food and drinks: Lots of cafes and restaurants within blocks.”

“You get what you pay for. It was ok. Thank god there is a Starbucks close by as the new phase of in-room coffee is, IMO, awful.
Staff was ok and the place is clean enough!”

“Our room was at the end of the hallway on the fifth floor. Pleasing plus a restful view of trees and the tops of mountains to the east. Easy access from the freeway without all the traffic noise. Plentiful parking. Gated area under the building if needed. Close to so many places to shop/ eat. You could get by with no car, get some exercise, and be happy. So many things are within a short ten minute drive. The rooms are large with a sleep area and a couch to sit and relax. Breakfast was standard Marriott food, just done well. Huge workout well equipped room. Pool plus relaxing spa. Inside and outdoors seating plus tables to hang out and eat or get some work done.

Rooms: Large clean suites. The bathroom was split with a separate room for the toilet, with a tiny sink. You will wash your hands every time after use you dirty dog. The shower has its own large sink. This unusual layout is great for when two people need to get ready at the same time. Or when one person takes long showers, and the other needs to use the porcelain throne.

Nearby activities: There is a strip mall to the north, easy walking distance. One could walk south to the mall. I did this walk, but most people will drive. A great 16-screen theater is a seven minute drive. There are too many parks to list. Downtown is a quick car ride. Don't miss the super cool alleyway artworks. I'm talking about full buliding murals to mini works of art. If you go anywhere or do anything, you will crave some quality chocolate. There is a great place for your fix across from the Baker Theater. Chocolate bars, drinks, and glatto. Get out of your car to wander around the downtown. Many small quirky stores/shops. There are several great hikes for people who venture out. Many are easy, all the way up to your skill level.”

“I recently stayed at TownePlace Suites Bellingham for my brothers wedding and was blown away by the incredible customer service. From check-in to check-out, every interaction with the staff was exceptional. Their attention to detail, friendliness, and professionalism made my stay truly memorable.

As someone who works at a Residence Inn, I have a deep appreciation for great hospitality, and the team at TownePlace Suites exceeded all my expectations. Being on the receiving end of such outstanding service felt amazing, and it’s inspired me to raise the bar even higher in my own work.

I would gladly work with such a dedicated and talented team any day. Thank you, TownePlace Suites Bellingham, for making my stay during the wedding so wonderful. Keep up the fantastic work!”

“My husband & I spent a week at Bay City Inn. The staff is amazing, especially Aman. He keeps the breakfast area very clean & is a hard worker. Very nice too. The decor is outdated but every other part of our week there was quite perfect. I recommend this motel. It’s close to I5 & many restaurants. The two Queen beds are comfortable. Thanks to Bay City Inn! Sue B.”

“Nothing special as far as cheap motels go but it was clean and the room I was in had been updated with new counters and floors. The tub, chair, bed and other things were clearly left over and not up dated when other parts were but it was fine for the price.

I thought the bed felt hard and could feel the springs. The pillows were a bit weird. Kind of square, different thickness/firmness and it was like they were wrapped in a sheet instead of a pillow case. Again, weird but not bad necessarily.

The free breakfast is kind of basic. Toast, juice, cereal, waffle maker but it closes at 9 am so we didn’t get a chance to use it. Not a big deal though as right next door is Woods Coffee which has tasty snacks and coffee.

Across the street is Fred Meyer (grocery/department store) so pretty much anything you might need is right there.

The location is also great, a straight shot to downtown (I’d say walkable if you’ve got the time and energy), right off the freeway for easy access to everything else.
The real bonus is that”

“Nice motel and a convenient location. Interacted with the motel staff and they are very considerate and helpful with any and all services. Air conditioning and beds were very good and comfortable. Overall, had a great experience! Highly recommend.”

“For 60 dollars more, you can escape the low quality bed bug motels nearby. Absolutely worth it. Walking inside, it smells and looks great. Customer service was on point the whole stay. The rooms are kept clean, but there was one stray hair on the bathroom door and a few things looked aged, but that was all minor to me.”

“Beautiful hotel in a pretty location. Very nice room with a wet bar set up. Clean and well appointed with everything we needed…not just the bare minimum of towels, washcloths and cups. Wonderful breakfast with an attendant always there replenishing coffee, juice, milk, eggs, sausage etc. Stayed at several hotels across the US northwest in the last week and this was by far the best and very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay againRooms: Very nice and clean roomFood & drinks: Great hot breakfast with a large variety of items”
