Ok, so every single food item I purchase from this store is EXPIRED. The other day, bought a monster “Irish cream coffee” energy drink, that was months expired. The drink was totally seperated even after shaking which means the cream is spoiled. It reeked like bacteria and alcohol. Apparently I didn’t learn my lesson, I was just trying to grab a quick snack running errands and went for one of these pies. I had a bad feeling it would be expired too. What do you know. The pie crust was rock solid and the cream filling was like rubber. I’ve had these many mantle times and never had one so expired. Looked up the expiration date. OCTOBER OF 2024! Maybe it was frozen for a while, and then thawed but definitely not recently. This is so unacceptable. Are the owners not checking inventory? Are the workers lazy? Idk, but a store that charges at about a 50% mark up this should never be an issue. Who loves paying almost DOUBLE for expired items!! Not I. Get it together, this is so messed up. Especially since it’s not the first time. I went through a lot of the food items earlier today and noticed that a bunch of other products are months past the expiration date. What gives? You guys don’t want to lose money on expired items? Maybe don’t out out the entire inventory or something I don’t know. Of course I can’t get my money back either, how effing convenient. Never buying anything here ever again. Idk if there is new ownership within the last year but this never use to happen.

Avoid this market if possible. They sell vapes, that are broken, constantly. And if you walk out and back in after discovering this, they will literally laugh at your face and point to small signs saying to refunds.
Incredibly consumer unfriendly. I'd heavily recommend going to Maple Street Market, 2 blocks away. Great customer service, and they don't stoop to such lower predatory practices- by selling known malfunctioning items.
-- While I'm at it, I live downtown, and often see a Costco delivery truck in the morning on weekdays. JJ's In and Out are absolutely price gouging, a quick search shows their profit margins are absolutely through the roof if you compare their in-store prices to the Costco wholesale prices.
Response:
The owner claims the item sold was returned "thoroughly" used. Which is odd, because the only way you'd be able to tell this, is based on the 'juice' levels of the vape. Considering this product automatically was firing and producing vape- would make this item appear used; but more importantly incredibly dangerous.
It's clear that they're trying to claim the faulty/damaged product they sold me- is my fault. Fortunately, I have screenshots of my purchase, which is literally less then 24 hours of when I left this review. Which, for a product that has "20,000 puffs" seems super likely, right?
I'd recommend being accountable, and admitting that you purchased a damaged shipment, and simply decide to make your customers suffer while increasing your profit margins.
Thank you, for responding to my review- and attempting to shift *all* of the fault on me. I'll be accountable, and stop shopping there.
****Bonus update**** I went to Maple Market (new store next to Boundary Bay), explained the situation to the owner, and he agree'd what JJ's market is doing is scummy. Additionally, he has assured me that I can simply check the vapes in the store for functionality, or comeback any time and he'll make it right. I couldn't urge locals anymore then now to STOP going to JJ's. (this applies to anyone).
Bellingham locals should support local places. JJ's Market really enjoys making it hard to do that.

The dudes who work here are scammers and creeps. I’ve seen them hit on and look at underage girls in a very very creepy way. They also mark the prices incorrectly and charge you extra once you’re at the reg. Avoid this spot at all costs unless you like supporting creeps

Great store with great staff. I work in customer service and have a good respect for those who do a good job in the field. Parneet especially is super helpful every time I have to deliver (6stars if I could).

Jj’s in and out store.. the staff has made attempts to steal from my debit card. Very rude kids working there. Always kicking people out for no reason. What kind of business is that.. steal from you and then kick you out of the store

They are extremely hostile to anyone who looks even vaguely poor or homeless doubly so if you aren't white. They recently stopped accepting EBT as well which is a blatant attack on those less fortunate. Do not shop here if you have a choice

New ownership raised prices upwards of 50% across the board, total scam, significantly more expensive than every other convenience store in the city, it was already pricey before but this is obscene
