We were given school photos from family and had a suitable frame, but it was not the right size for the photos (too large) so we came here in search of matting for the frame. We found precut mat in various sizes that brought the space between the frame and the photos close, but still not quite right. We then came across scrap book paper! Very reasonable and so many options! It worked out great and finally we can proudly display and enjoy the school photos instead of putting them on the fridge with magnets lol! If you have time to wander, this is a fantastic place for Getting ideas for so many organization/decorating/house projects! The staff was friendly and helpful. I should also mention, they do offer custom mats here but for this project, it was not worth the money (these are tiny photos and we will probably re frame new ones next year). They also can custom frame and mat your photos/artwork of Any size!

I received stellar customer service from a lady named Kim on 11/22/20 I had a specific item I was looking for and could not find, and she went out of her way to help me find it ( a cute festive pillow ) I really felt that my business was valued, and that she genuinely cared about me leaving with what I came for! Kim thank you for taking the time, my friend loved the pillow! And your energy made my day.

Just had to visit here to get my "yarn fix". The yarn is in the back of the store so I had to peruse the entire store to reach It! What a treat. I found it hard to resist starting a new hobby or project. I found heaven in the yarn department. Huge selection and always a sale on a particular yarn. I continue to stock up and add to my yarn inventory. I am a regular patron who knows to visit Michael's when I need a yarn "fix"!

I'm not sure about the rest of the store but I can say that Dylan in the Framing Department is great! We first went to JoAnnes because the website said they were open until 9pm, when we arrived we were told the Framers usually go home around 5pm. Really? I wish I had known before getting there, so I immediately called Michaels and asked what their hours were and they said they always have someone in Framing until closing, so we went on over. Dylan was great, he was very patient and helped us find cost effective options and provided suggestions for what might look better and did end up looking better. He saved us over $100 just with his suggestions! He was overall very kind and I appreciated the time he spent with us and how he was still in the store! Thank you, Dylan!

I am a new artist to Bellingham and usually hate Michaels. Where I used to live, I avoided ours like the plague unless they were having a sale that was too good to pass up. However, I was delighted to find that the staff and manager, Rachael are all too happy to help, make me laugh and accommodate my sometimes strange requests! What an awesome team! I will be returning to this Michaels often!

I love everything about Michael's! There are so many great crafting supplies, decor, and items for almost every event, party, or gift idea you can image! This is one store for me that can be dangerous to spend too much time in, and end up buying everything! They have a lot of great sale and new Spring items right now to check out. Don't forget to download a coupon before going in to make sure you get savings on your purchase! *Coupons will not apply to sale items

This place is located off of Meridian Road right next to the PetSmart, across from the Walmart. In order to reach this place, you have to turn off of Meridian onto West Stuart Road. I came here around 8:30PM on a Saturday night after dropping off a friend at the train station. I did not want to go back home and work so I decided to check out what this place has to offer and at the same time, purchase an item for my class use. Well, if you would like to have a shopping experience where they treat you like a potential criminal, then this is the right store for you to go to. I found my item and was taking a closer look at it by taking it out of the box (it was not sealed so it was not like I had to break any tape to open it) to make sure it was the right item in terms of size and the sales representative comes around the corner asking, "Can I help you find something?" That tone in her voice insinuated to me that she was weary and I responded by saying, "Yes, I found the item I was looking for, thank you." She walks away but speaks into her microphone within my earshot, "There's an Asian guy with a [crafts item] and he said he's going to check out now. Be on the lookout..." Are you serious? I was actually a bit spooked by this so I went to straight to the checkout as opposed to shopping around some more, which I wanted to do. However, after this episode, who would dare to linger around any longer? I checked out at the register and mustered the courage to ask the cashier working there what was up with this, "Be on the lookout..." (I assumed he was the one that got the message from the floor sales representative) and he told me at this time of night, there are a lot of thefts. Ok, I understand that the store has to protect their inventory but since when has coming in at this hour become suspicious (the store chose to open at this time)? When did opening an unsealed item just to check inside to make sure that it is what I want (literally just open the box and not even take out anything) a cause for a comment like that? I told the cashier that I was planning on checking out a few other items as well and the cashier told me to go right ahead and that I have my receipt so there's nothing to worry about. I went back into the store to look at the drawing pencils section (since I used to draw a lot and just wanted to see what is out there these days) after purchasing my item. Not even before 2 minutes have gone by, another employee comes around the aisle and asks if he could help me find what I'm looking for, but in that uncomfortable tone where you know that if you were to say, "Thank you, I'm good", he will just hover around to make sure you do not take anything. If you don't believe me, go here on Saturday night around closing time and experience it for yourself.

I recently went here to have some artwork framed. The day before I went to the other big box arts & crafts store and had an experience as bad as root canal. After wasting an hour at the other store I was expecting the worst. Totally different experience. We were in and out in 20 minutes. In 3 minutes we were show what the finished product looked like (she spent 20 minutes at the other store and still couldn't show us and end product). Michaels will have all my future business.

It doesn't matter where I go, but if I go inside a Michael's I always know what to expect. The layout is the same in every single store and I know exactly where I need to go to get what I need. The store is neat and organized but more could be done to make the outside of the store look more inviting; it looks drab.

Wow! This store has really gone downhill. While I never typically like having sales associates trying to help me in every aisle, it would be nice if there was one in the entire store. I was in the store for more than 30 minutes looking for an item I've seen many times. However I could not locate it today. I spent so much time looking for it, I finally had to use the bathroom. The entirely dark bathroom has automatic lights that don't come on until you're half way into the room. I wish they would have stayed off. One toilet was plugged, and the rolls of toilet paper had been placed on the floor in both stalls. This isn't something that a customer without a key could have done. Both rolls were black and filthy, something I don't think the health department would be thrilled with. I left the bathroom and tried to find an associate, but it seemed that the cashier was the only person working in the entire store! The aisle up to the register was so tight that I wasn't going to squeeze by people to ask for her to page someone. I also do not feel it's appropriate (or up to fire code) to have to squeeze through that narrow blockade through a line of people in order to exit the store. Especially if I'm not even buying anything! So I waited for someone to come in the entrance (which can only be triggered from the outside_again total fire hazard) and left.

Good sized Michael's for a sub-urban area, only problem I had was when the cashier insisted that I pay her the 1 penny I was short on the transaction. I was not thrilled, and just "loudly" asked the line of customers around if anyone can "donate" a penny towards the transaction. seriously, a PENNY?! I second the other reviewers, why the attitude? this is a waste of everyone's time!

When I need to decorate and I can't find something elsewhere I will come to here as a last resort. It is in a super busy shopping center and its product quality and selection is noticeably weaker than in years past. My experience with staff is avereage, mostly they are just "doing their job" and lack enthusiasm. I would prefer to get supplies from knowledgeable people that have a passion for what they sell.

Art supplies are 50% cheaper than in Canada and they will honor Canadian coupons that are e-mailed weekly. The staff needs to smile more. It's a craft store for f*ck's sake....why the negative attitude? (most of the times that I have been there). Today I had an awesome girl at the 'til whom had a gold headband that reminded me of Canadian singer/songwritter Lights.
