I opened a People's Bank checking account several years ago, and didn't worry to much about it. I went to cancel the account and retrieve the $20 I used to open the account, but was informed by Marissa, the Director of Operations that my account switched from electronic statements to paper statements, and that I had been charged a monthly fee for this until the account was depleted and closed down. I was not aware of this happening at all, and Marissa was completely unwilling to refund any of these funds. $20 isn't a big deal, but it's the principle of the thing that matters to me. People go to small community banks like this for good customer service and this is the opposite of what I experienced. I'm not one to give bad reviews for businesses, but I don't think I'm going to be going to People's Bank in the future for any of my banking needs. It seems like it would be a good customer service policy to just give me the $20 back to keep a good reputation in the community and as a show of good faith. I hope other people's experience is different than mine.

I owned a small business and banked at peoples for a short time. My experience with them was horrible. If you have a small business do not bank here but if you have a large business with a minimum daily balance of a million dollars I am sure they will kiss your a*** WARNING do not do business with this bank. Any good reviews about this bank were done by their employees!!!

We just purchased a house in Bellingham while living in California and we used Gena Stremler as our loan officer. She was extraordinarily helpful and friendly. She kept in constant contact so we knew what she needed from us and where we were in the process from start to finish. I highly recommend her for your mortgage needs.

I've been banking with Peoples for 15 years. They have always been courteous and helpful. I've never had a problem with them. I also had a small business account with them for six year and had flawless service.

Probably the most pompous and pretentious bank ever. The tellers act like they are god gift to the world and the management all have their heads up their arse.

I have a professional practice and have had my business account with People's Downtown branch for over 15 years. Every staff member I interact with exemplifies an emphasis on personalized customer service. They are knowledgeable and helpful. The bank has many products I use in managing my business and personal finances and the advice I have received from various departments has been excellent and without any pressure. I recommend People's highly.

My husband and I recently refinanced our home and worked with Carmen Denson, AVP/Senior Real Estate Loan Officer. I cannot speak highly enough about Carmen and her timely attention to detail and help! Owning a small business and looking for a loan for a house we were having a hard time finding a bank that would take the time to understand our goals, until we found Peoples Bank.
