I lost my wedding ring here in 2009 and it makes me sad to this day. Everything else was great, but the ring part was rough. A side note, they were incredibly kind in their effort to follow up with me

This poses as an organization upholding and disseminating the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. He started organizations called Yogoda Satsanga Society (of India) and Self Realization Fellowship ("SRF" -USA) in 1919 and 1920, respectively, now with worldwide branches. The founder of Ananda was a monk of SRF but was expelled in 1962 by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors. He started his own organization and wrote some books. In exploring the possibility of joining Ananda, I read one of Swami Kriyananda's books and was very disillusioned by the gossipy and unforgiving things he wrote about some of the monastics of SRF. It was totally counter to the teachings I had already read about in some of Yogananda's writings. He came across as a fake who wanted power and was kind of trying to elevate himself in a way counter to the teachings of his guru. The final straw came when, during a Sunday morning service at the Ananda temple, I personally heard the two clergy in charge ask for donations from the congregation so they could take a pleasure, not working, vacation to Hawaii. Corruption in my book. I didn't last long after that. Nice people though, except for the leadership.

Nice place to meditate! They offer free re-take for life, you just need to pay once and you can go as many times as needed. Everyone is super friendly and helpful.
