My partner and I walked into Harborstone Bank about half an hour before closing – the deadline for an excellent promotion featuring an outstanding interest rate in today’s CDs. There to greet & meet us was Darrel Vo, a highly organized, customer-oriented gentleman who is talented in his ability to encourage open dialog. He understands that clients need his trust when they hand their hard-earned money to his bank. He understands that as Harborstone’s ambassador, that he is the main link between his bank’s bricks-and-mortar and his customers. Darrel gained my trust based upon his actions during visit by my partner and me. He was cool, calm and well-collected. He was laser focused on what I wanted done. I wanted to open a special account on the final day of Harborstone’s promotion.His attention to detail was important given all the required paperwork. Even though he knew precisely information required from me while completing the documentation, he kept his sense of humor all the while working carefully and accurately to finish by closing time. My lack of information about Harborstone made it necessary to question the institution’s track record, financial condition, account safety, security, management experience and credentials, the bank’s investment strategies etc. Darrel responded to my numerous questions in an unusual manner. When he did not know the answer to any question, he openly admitted he didn’t know, but he also indicated that he would find the answers. Other bankers would provide answers only they weren’t to the questions I asked. Their answers were meant to distract me from what they didn’t know. It’s important that someone in Darrel’s position be “straight” with me. Otherwise I can’t trust them and can’t rely on what they tell me is true or false.By the time Darrell completed all my partner’s and my paperwork, we left his bank believing that he performed in an excellent, professional, personable, good-natured fashion. No less important, friends, family and acquaintances never ask me to recommend a bank, much less a banker. However, I will tell all those I know that Darrel served me and my partner very well. And that he has the demeanor and personality to serve all his customers well.

As I begin the journey to start my own chiropractic business in Woodinville, there are many hoops to jump through. Darrel Vo was very helpful laying out my path to creating a bank account through Harborstone, which was full of steps that I didn't even know I needed to complete. Without this help, there are probably many things I wouldn't know that I even needed. There were many hiccups along the road, but Darrel's guidance got me to the finish line and I can't thank him enough for all the help.

Inconvenient. Not enough branches, they open late, and half the time ATMs are out of order so I cannot deposit money. When ordering a new debit card, they say it takes 7-10 business date, though I've have it take as long as a month because they forgot to send it, i had to use credit cards the whole time. This last time I ordered a new card I still did not get it, waited over 11 business days without a card...It took them a long time to introduce a quick online bill pay option like Zelle, before that i had to call every month and wait 20 mins to manually send money to other's accounts to pay bills.

Harborstone 'Bothell' is a very solid credit union. I've been a member for sometime now. And it's run well with great employees. One of them being, Darrel Vo! He's a very good listener and understood my customer needs. His knowledge of the products and services that are offered at Harborstone is vast. Darrel was able to plug me into a LOC that assisted me in my ailing situation and made me feel comfortable throughout the process considering that I am a Business owner...Darrel, thanks for making my experience non-complicated and the process a super one...

Mr. Darrel Vo, always exceeded our expectations, not just once but twice now. His knowledge, professionalism, care, compassion and excellent customer service is a top notched! He has good common insight and the effort to help us and a lot of customers. When you bring on the table your problem, he takes care of it with confidence and re-assure you that it will be taken cared of, and sure he does right away all the time. He is very good in listening and helping customers like me; and acting upon solving the issue. This time I asked helped from him and went to his office. He took time early that morning. The first time issue I encountered was him saving me from the fraudulent checked from a scammer.Second time issue was just recently. There was unauthorized charge coming from third party. I reported my card and ended up getting a new one. When I received that card in a mailbox, I tried using it in the store and started saying “card declined”Second time was in gasoline station, same thing it says “card declined”Third time around, it was in Guess store and again card saying “card declined” It was very embarrassing in my part. All these “ care declined “ saying do not work when I automatically pay without providing my passcode. I did contacted a male customer service agent who was training a female agent at that moment. Both of them was not understanding my main concerns. They told me that this card was under investigation. So I kind of freaked out about this investigation thing both were telling me. All I wanted is to use that card and purchase some items but it was a messed and hassle because it was giving me hard times. Second time I contacted again a customer agent. A lady called me and appearing to not understand my concerns still. She asked me about my amount limit, which store location il be purchasing and what am I buying? I kept explaining that all I want is to use my debit card, and I couldn’t use multiple times purchasing that time because not all stores asked to provide passcode. I was emotionally and mentally stressed out talking to three customer agents that day prior to asking help from Darrel Vo.So I decided to go to his office here located in Bothell. This place is a perfect place to go when you guys having problems with your harborstone bank.That day, Mr. Darrel Vo recognized us and right away gave us his time. Understanding, giving insight, excellent knowledge on what is going on with my this new card and so does with some customers having issues just I am. He even tried calling the customer service for me while I was there.He came up with a brilliant idea to give me a new card, re-assured to expedite it and sure did. The card was ready ahead of time and came as promised. This new card he sent, works fine now, using my passcode or not in any merchandise store and online. He did helped ease my anxiety and relieved my emotional stress of what I had to go through.Darrel Vo, I do appreciate you so much! This bank is worse than Wells Fargo when they used to call everyone for less than two days late... They even don't do their math correctly when do car payoffs after a car accident.

I went yesterday in the Branch looking to understand why my account was overdrawn, instead i had the nightmare of being helped by a rude and unprofessional Rep, Darrel Vo. He refused to answer a simple question to balance out my account and asked me to leave the branch when i told him that he was not treating me like a customer. Darrel Vo he's the worst rep i never encountered in my life. Likely, the Branch manager Kelly happened to be there and was able to assist me with my question. I would not recommend anyone to be helped by this rep who demonstrated anger and poor customer service.

I'm giving this rating in regards to Darrel Vo at the Bothell Branch. He helped resolve an issue with Zelle on Zelle and Harborstones side, and followed up kindly multiple times. He gave me the type of customer service that you rarely see.

This isn't so much a review of this branch, more a review of their customer service over the phone. I recently got a new debit card, they told me i would be getting the new PIN in a letter in the mail and if I wanted to change it I could call and change it. Long story short I decided to keep the PIN they send but it wouldn't work when I tried to use it. After calling and being put on hold for 45 minutes they told me I was supposed to call a toll free number to set it myself, while I was holding the letter that had my supposed PIN. They then put me on hold for another 15 minutes before they put me through to the toll free number where there wasn't a representative, it was an automated process. Moral of the story don't expect them to "expedite" anything. If they gave me the right phone number to begin with I wouldn't have had to wait an hour to set a 4 digit PIN.
