Hours: East Towne Center is a shopping area located along Wheaton Way. It is an older strip mall with plenty of parking that is never hogged up and where visitors never have an issue finding a spot. The lot features bigger stores like Goodwill and Petsmart (or Petco) which draw the most people and cars. Other businesses include a couple cell phone stores, a tanning place, a rent to own store, an MMA dojo, hair shops, a dental shop, a tienda, and Mum's Fish and Chips which has great Filipino cuisine. The area is described by some as hood town but with nice people, no crimes, and no reason for doing hard time, calling it a blessing. A security vehicle drives through randomly once or twice each day and is on call for the stores. However, maintenance can be inconsistent, with reports of trash overflowing at bus stops. Some stores, like the pawn shop, can be empty and overpriced, with criticism about high prices on used items. The arrival of a specific cell phone store is welcomed by some as a reliable alternative to competitors.
