This place is a joke, they have a few people who have been there for years and a bunch of new people that are not trained properly. The customer service counter is more often than not "closed" because they can't keep people or train more people for Western Union and Money Orders. Their hot water went out on November 24th, 2023 but Starbucks was still open. Apparently they are still having hot water issues as of Today November 24th 2023, but Starbucks is open again , not really sure how that's not some sort of sanitation violation. I hear from new employees they get scheduled less than 20 hours a week, frequently outside of their availabilities and they are threatened with write ups and basically told "deal with it". There is constant understaffed because they want to run things as thin as possible and they know that pretty much any other Safeway has similar issues. It is truly sad that this is the "best" Safeway in the area and it's not good.

The worst CSR I have ever seen. Their supervisor or lead PAUL Completely rude with all the customers. When you actually don’t have a customer service spirit you shouldn’t be working for these kind of companies. There some other cashiers with better attitude that their “lead”. Specifically when it’s busy and you’re running without staff you must be communicative with everyone not having a “Grinch” face all the time.

It's good place to go when you need something fast or some regular items. I go there all the time for coffee, etc. Not in the best location and doesn't seem get the support the other Safeways do. It has a Starbucks and Liquor store if your into that.

Original post from July: This Safeway is chronically understaffed. Their front end management is lacking, in that there doesnt seem to be much support staff for certain areas. The customer service, money orders, lottery and Western Union are frequently said to be "closed for the day" due to someone not being availableThere seems to be mostly one checker and a person at Self check out most of the time and staffing is so poor that a single call out causes catastrophe. It has been an ongoing issue for many months now, voiced by customers and employees alike.Edit: August 10th,2023 They have added more self checkouts which speeds up the check out process. Still hear a lot of complaints from employees about not getting enough hours but then see store advertising they are hiring. Which probably explains the high turnover. Employees already there getting shorted hours and being told more people are being hired. They have hired some more people for customer service and seem to be trying to improve customer service representation. One major issue is seeing so many things just go out the door. Not sure why stores don't start implementing a policy similar to Costco on checking receipts. Have a person at the door verifying item count on receipts on exit and greeting people as they enter. Only people who would have a problem with it, are the people you would want to keep out anyway.

I understand staffing can be challenging, but it seems this particular store experiences more difficulty staying staffed up then any other grocery store in the area. Customer Service is rarely staffed. I see maybe 3 lanes opened at a time when visiting. Signage is posted asking patrons to be understanding due to poor staffing. Carts are rarely collected. I don't understand why this store can't seem to pull itself together.

Pathetic Pathetic! It's truly disturbing to the point where I refuse to return to this particular Safeway. Yesterday I pulled into the lot and waited for another disabled patron to load her groceries. As she pulled out this young African American girl cut me off and took the spot. I honked my horn to motion I'd been waiting for the spot, she withdrew and pulled into another disabled parking spot. When she got out of her car I realized she was a security officer for the store, fully abled and in uniform. Allied universal officer. She had no placards or license plate indicating her authorization to park there...just lazy I guess I went into the store and spoke with a couple managers and they 'said' they'd take care of it but they went on with their joking. I returned to the store again today and she was again parked in a disabled spot. As I'm walking through the store I overheard snickering from said officer saying something like "There are 6 spots out there, what's the big deal?" The big deal is she's not physically disabled and too lazy or too hot for her hair to walk across the parking lot. She's supposed to be there to enforce the rules for the customer, not break them herself! The managers that laughed it off yesterday are millennial dumbasses...I'm fairly certain the officer is a millennial also. Where's the work ethic?!

The lines were very long to check out, and they had no shopping baskets, just giant carts. How does a grocery store have no baskets?

Common to be out of items, if they close the self checkout they should have more registers open.

I usually can use my WIC card at the self checkout at different Safeway locations. I didn’t know this store doesn’t. I asked for help from an associate and her back was turnt. She had no problem helping. The problem was her assistant manager with a black vest; she was completely rude. “ I might as well do my work in my office if I’m going to keep getting interrupted.” She turns to her coworker and says, “ please catch people before they try their WIC cards.” First off my son was with me so that’s the only reason I tolerated your disrespect. I’m a customer have some kind way of notifying me.I don’t care about your work stress .

Safeway is my favorite grocery store! They offer a wide selection of fresh produce, great deals, and excellent customer service. Convenient and reliable, I always enjoy shopping at Safeway!

Worst customer service. I came to get money order and I waited 30 minutes and no one came for me. I talked to the employee Alysia but she happened to be the manager for the day and she talked to me rudely saying that she first has to see all the customers in the registers which the the line never ends. She could have quickly closed the line, served me as I was the only one waiting in line to do money order but I kept standing there waiting for her. When she came to do the money order, instead of explaining or even just doing the money order for me she started yelling at me. Safeway either needs to train her or fire her.
