Owner is very trustworthy & reasonably priced. I thought I needed a new transmission, but turns out, the owner drove my car to find the issues. I appreciated him taking the time. All I needed was transmission fluid

PINK TAX ALERT. I called this shop to swap a used transmission I would bring to them to put in my 99 Tacoma with a bad transmission, and got quoted $800-$1000 for labor, and a total of $1200-$1300 with "tax and fluids". I had my male friend call them asking what they would charge him for a swap on his 97 4Runner if he brought in a transmission for them to swap. They quoted him $880 and another $75 in tax, amounting to a total of $955. I called them back and confronted them about this difference, and the guy over the phone claimed he quoted my friend $1100, which was a lie. I heard the conversation between my friend and the shop, and what he was actually quoted ($880 plus $75 tax). That is a considerable difference for the same exact service. When I then offered to bring my own fluids, I was quoted $1100. I will be finding a more honest shop to do business with that does not charge hundreds extra when they hear a female voice over the phone.

Eric is amazing! Fielded multiple phone calls from me over a few days, while I tried to research the best place to take my car... Decided to drive from Tacoma up to Burlington to take it here to Transmission Outlet. The dealership wanted over $3,000 to fix my clutch and they didn't even mention some seals and other things that ended up being needed because of a few leaks I had... Eric and his team caught all of the issues and did an amazing job, all the while also keeping in contact with me and explaining what was going on with my car and the process. Even though we had to wait an extra day for parts, he still got everything done within a few days and kept true to his original quote for the labor. I hope to not have any further clutch or other transmission issues, but if I do I will definitely be bringing it back to Eric!

Took my '10 F150 in to have the transmission checked because it was making an odd sound. Not only did they give it a thorough once over, test drove it, lifted it up and looked underneath but they ran a quick diagnostic and it turns out everything is fine! And on top of that no charge!! These guys are top notch

Erik (mechanic) and Steve (owner) were extremely efficient and knowledgeable in all things transmission, and also honest and kind. I bought a 2006 Ford diesel e450 recently. I bought the van to save money so that I can haul my own material for a remodel. I bought it in Auburn and trying to drive it north of Bellingham. I got an inexpensive ODB reader, so I knew there was a transmission issue before starting the trip. But, it turned out worst than I thought. It slipped and chuckled on highway badly after about 30 mins driving on highway. So, I had to exit the highway and get help. One shop quoted me $550 just for the diagnostic, and not willing to give out any kind of estimate even for worth-case scenario... A nearby shop gave me a "free" diagnostic, and told me I need full transmission rebuild. But, they then charge me $140 for diagnostic when I didn't go ahead with the rebuild. I called Transmission Outlet and told Steve about my problem. He was upfront on how much they charge for full rebuild if needed (and they do it themselves, so warranty will not be an issue) and told me they would not charge me anything for diagnostic even if I ended up not doing the repair. So, I bought the car there. Erik looked at it in the next morning and told me the problem was exactly what the ODB reader said. He estimated it would only take 2 hours of labour told me exactly how much the parts and trans-oil would cost. Got it out of the door at the estimated time and the exact amount (1/5 of a full-rebuild). The transmission now shifts wonderful. Unfortunately, there was another problem with my Ford. It lost power intermittently. Not knowing the problems, I called Steve and he sent Erik and gave me diagnostic where my car stalled. It was clearly not a transmission problem. Erik was very sympathetic gave me as much information as he can so I can find a diesel mechanic to help. I finally got a diesel mechanic and got the other problem fixed. The other problem were related to the cam shaft sensor and it got broken housing so the problem only appeared when it rained hard. It verified everything Erik said. What planned as a two-hour trip ended up being a weeks-long journey. Erik and Steve were the very best people I met in the journey. They were very upfront, and willing to share the knowledge and honored everything they said thru-out; there were no misunderstanding and surprises. They definitely went way beyond and came help me on the other issue, I am very thankful for the kindness. They care about their work and the clients. I have no doubt they will honor their warranty. I wish they do more than just transmission.

I had my tranny rebuilt 1 year and 2 months ago Just days after it was not functioning correctly Robert the owner said it was common to have that and he would have to make adjustments as needed until it functioned after 2 or 3 of these adjustments the truck would shutter in reverse I had to pay for my rental the week and a half it took to be so called fixed They refused to pay for my rental or give me any warranty or service repair I just brought the truck in again for the transmission problems and he said warranty no good anymore but I won't charge you for labor only parts These used parts costed 3100 no warranty Refused to take my credit card because the reader was down but would not run it to see if it worked or reset it. He said tomorrow you can pay by card. That's today But this morning he said no cards yet. It should be working by 12:00 or 1:00. Came back he said nope but I was told it is a red flag that this mechanic didn't want a paper trail. So he said he would take a cashiers check and than I came back. He sneaks out to cash the check. I'm left there for an hour wondering why I have no keys no receipt. I asked kindly for my keys or and a receipt to a refund employee and I was told to go outside or they would call the cops so I went outside and called the cops. The owner Robert came back and held my receipt while he watched me sign my copy. Please call other shops and ask about this Robert who owns this place before considering taking your be home here. I wish I would have. 6000 for a tranny that is still slipping
