The great rate I got was not promotional, so I thought I got a great deal. What they don’t say is that they are allowed to increase your rate at any time as much as they want.
When you ask when did they notify you of this 40% rate hike after just 9 months, they say they emailed you and mailed a postcard. Later, when you tell them you could not find either, they say they didn’t send a email just a post. After another search of the mail pile, still nothing.
When you ask why they increased their rate, they say “inflation”. When you ask them to see if they can reduce this hike, they say call back to talk to the manager who says they’ll get back to you after they talk to the regional manager. Ultimately they say….”sorry, you asked too late.”
My experience is not unique. Search on google:
“CubeSmart accused of overcharging customers. Self-storage customers have filed a class-action lawsuit against CubeSmart, alleging that they were charged excessive fees for storage space. The company is facing allegations of deceptive and misleading business practices. May 1, 2023.”
If you don’t want to be gouged, find another storage facility. There are many in the Camas / Vancouver area.

Repeated, absurd rate increases, especially for long-term clients, reached its tipping point! The people, at least at my location, were very helpful and courteous. The policies suck.

My experience with this storage unit has been exceptional primarily due to the exceptional assistance provided by Andrew, the facility manager.From the moment I inquired about the storage unit, Andrew demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a genuine desire to help me find the perfect solution for my needs. Throughout the process, he was patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to address all my questions and concerns.Additionally, the storage facility itself is extremely well-maintained and secure. The units are clean and easily accessible, providing a convenient solution to all my storage needs.Aside from the exceptional service provided by manager Andrew, the location is situated in one of the most prestigious areas of Camas/Vancouver.

It's very clean. My only issues are the front gate, doors, and the code. It's VERY close to the units, making it very difficult if you have a trailer. The automatic doors can't be propped open, so when you're making several trips, you have to use an 8 digit code every single time. While I appreciate the security, it's a bit much.
